County Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 11:00 A. M. with .j , r the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, Presiding; ' Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 41; George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 42; C. J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 43; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct #4. The Court received the bid of George Mallard, Insurance Agency for the purchase of liability and workmans compensation insurance in the amount of approximately $24,000.00. After F _ r considerable discussion the Court instructed the County Judge to seek additional bids for the purchase of such insurance. The Court received an additional bid from George Webb Insurance Agency in the amount of $8,350.00 for the purchase of comprehensive general and comprehensive automobile liability insurance. After a thorough discussion Commissioner Porterfield moved with Commissioner Dunn seconding the motion that the County purchase such insurance from the George Webb Insurance Agency. Motion unanimously carried and the County Judge was authorized to make application for such insurance. The question of distribution of the County Insurance Program ,among local Insurance Agencies was discussed. The County Judge recommended that the County adopt a plan sucessfully adopted by the City of Bryan and the Bryan Independent School District, providing for the distribution of earned commissions among local Ins,urahce Agencies without regard to which agency happened to write a particular policy of insurance.. Under such plan elgibility by an Insurance Agency for participation would be determined on the following creteria: 1. Such agency has been in operation for a period of three (3) years in Brazos County, Texas 2. Only agencies representing; well established companies authorized to do business in Texas would be included. 3. All commissions must have been earned before they are distributed. Earned commissions would be distributed to eligible local insurance agencies on the following basis: 1. Servicing agent would receive 15% of net commissions. 2. One-third 0S) of the balance devided equally among all eligible agencies. 3. One-third ('IS) of the balance to be distributed based on total taxes paid by resident agency principals to Brazcs County. 4. One-third (s) ctf the balance to be distributed on basis ..of total number of•resident employees in the participating agency.
