M. on Monday, November 10, 1969, with the following present: 1 William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; 1,;''~ Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct #1; I1 George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct #2; i Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner,of Precinct 43 c I~ Frank Boriskie, County Clerk. The Court received approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports for October: B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer; B. V. Elins, Veterans Service Officer, William Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent; + Garland McIlveen, Jr., Associate County Agriculture Agent; a Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent; Barbara Dorsey,-Associate County,Home Demonstration Agent. Jr., Justice of Peace, Precinct 7 "Place .1• Fees collected and remitted to Brazos County •29870.00 Fees to-be paid'by County for•,162 cases;@ $4.00 •648.00 , I r ' - I • is I + ~ '~i W, +1'.E.. .:,}f•. +rir Jl Ll.ilFriZPZ 1 "t .F:S•4J,Y,r _ .~...^__""1.~^_,nt-~ , , T-, rrr y 77 On motion duly seconded and passed the Court voted to purchase on Executive Desk in the amount of $206.00 being'the .low'bid of Engineering Office and Supply Corp:,•and one'stationery. ;-storage pedestal for addition to an Executive desk to be,used in the Disttict 'Clerk's Office in the amount of $97.00 being the ! low bid of New Office Supply, and one Remmington Rand Electtic - Typewritter, model L25 with a'17 inch carriage in the'amount of $305:00 being the low bid of Bryan Office Company. Next presented was a bid for painting the Health Unit interior, where-uplon the'Court authorized the County Judge to receive another bid and accept the low bid for painting same. The Court next received the resignation of Dr. R. H. Harrision, Jr., as County Health Officer. The County Judge expressed the Courts ,appreciation for many years of service to the County which Dr. Harrison has rendered. Commissioner Porterfield moved and the County Judge seconded that Dr. Harrison's resignation be accepted' and that Dr. Clyde Capperton be appointed County Health Officer for the,reamitnder of this term. Motion was unanimously carried. The Court'next`discussed the problem of fires along the railroad track, particulary'in Precinct 1. Commissioner Nolan suggested that the raiiraod'be asked to notify the County and local fire departments~at such time as they wish to burn their right-of-way. It'was;agreed that the-County Judge would contact the Railroad to see if•some solution could be agreed upon. The next matter for discussion was the application to the Criminal Justice Council, State of Texas, for funds available under The .,.Law Enforcement Act Asscoation Of 1968. The County Judge stated that the Criminal Justice Council had rejected the intial application , except in so far as as the polygraph and vidio tape machines were concerned and that the County must now submit a final application j for these items, if it desires, on a'60% - 40% proration, the State 4 paying 'the larger shares'..
