After further discussion concerning the adoption of a food
program for Brazos County, Commissioner Porterfield moved that
the County Judge be authorized to negotiate with the State
Department of Public Welfare for the establsihment of a Food
Stamp Program in Brazos County on a one year basis, subject to
final approval of the Commissioners Court. Motion was seconded'
by Commiasioner Stasny. Commissioners Stasny and Porterfield and,''
the County Judge voted "aye", with Commissioners Dunn and Nolan
voting "no", whereupon the County Judge announced that the
motion had carried.
The Court next considered the matter of changes of the
boundry lines of the election precincts for the voting year,

for the year 1969 on all property in Brazos County. The County:

whereas this being a regular term of the Commissioners Court of
Brazos County, Texas and all members of said Court being present,;.'
the Court proceeded to a discussion and levying of taxes for
the current year. Commissioner Stasny moved that the County
tax rate for the current year as set forth above be adopted
and that taxes be levied in accordance with said schedule.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Porterfield. Motion
unanimously carried whereupon the County Judge announced that
the motion carried and it is so ordered that the foregoing
tax rate be adopted and taxes levied in accordance therewith.
On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously
voted to authorize the County Judge to accept the low bid
for the purchase of an air conditioning unit for the County
health Unit to be paid for from the Permanent Improvement Fund.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, a
Bond of Public Weigher in the amount of $2,500.00 executed
by J. B. Beard as Principal and the United States Fidelity and
Guaranty-Company as surety, dated August 4, 1969 was approved.
On motion by Commissioner Porterfield and seconded by ;
Commissioner Stasny the Court unanimously voted to request that
the balance of $17,987.55 be forwarded by the Board Of County
And District Road Indebtedness of The State Of Texas to be used 7
by Brazos County for the construction and improvement of County F
lateral roads. It is so ordered. i
On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously voted- 4
