The Court next heard a.presentation by representatives of,
the State Department of Public Welfare•concerning the Commodity Distrib-`
ution Program and'the Food Stamp Program, available through the Depart--,
ment;'of Public-Welfare and the United States Department of Agriculture..
Literature concerning each of these programs was distributed and left
with~the Commis'sioners' Court for further,study.
The Court next considered a,proposal from the Brazos County
Industrial Foundation for an option on the Saddle Club property.. After'"---.
further consideration the Court-uhanimously voted to await'the'recommend
ations of the'Advisory Committee before making any disposition of 'the
Saddle Club matter.
The County Judge next presehted~a request from,the Bryan City"
.Mission that it be allowed the use of the vacant building at 26n and,
Washington for a storage warehouse. After further discussion the Court,-',''_'
voted to refuse this request due to the fact that,there are inadequate,
utilities available at this property., f
There was next considered bids•for'painting the outside metal
trim and doors on the ground floor of the Courthouse. Mr. Dunn'moved,, -
and Commissioner Nolan seconded that the low bid of Jim Nichols in the
I..
amount of $542.50 be accepted. Motion unanimously carried.' The other
bid was in the amount of.$765.00.
The Court next considered bids 'for the purchase of _ an . automobile' '

for the Sheriff's Office, and on motion-,by Commissioner Dunnr.and 'second-•'
ed by Commissioner'Nolan, the Court unanimously voted to accept the low ,
bid of Sellstrom••Pontiac-Buick, Inc. in the amount-of $2790.00, trade=in'
price, for a -1969 Pontiac Catalina,' 4-door sedan.' , Other,' bids 'were in Y -
the amount ,of..,$291"2:00, `for, a 1969 Buick; and' $2800.00 fora 1969; Olds=.,"`

On motion by Mr. Dunn, : seconded by Commissioner Nolan, the','. _
Court unanimously voted'to authorize'the County Judge to-submit a
preliminary proposal to the Criminal-Justice Council for funds
through the Law Enforcement-Assistance Act of 1968; as,recomniended
by the Comprehensive Law Enforcement Study prepared by''the Brazos
Valley Development'Council.
On motion made, seconded and unanimously passed; the Court
voted to approve all reports and to pay-all bills which have been'
properly filed and approved.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
The foregoing minutes, beginning on Page ~3 4 and concluded

WHEREAS, at an election held in and throughout Brazos.
County, Texas, on the 24th day of February, 1968, more than'a ••••r'
majority of the duly qualified resident electors of said

County who owned taxable property within said County and who
had duly rendered the same for taxation, voting at said
election, voted-in favor `of the issuance of the bonds of
said County in the amount of $350,000, for the purpose of
the construction and/or improvement of farm-to-market and
lateral roads, said bonds to bear interest at a rate or rates,,
not exceeding 5% per annum and to mature serially not to
exceed 30 years from their date or dates, and to be issued "
under the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, includ-
ing Chapter 464, Acts of the 51st Legislature of Texas,,
Regular Session, 1949, as amended; and
WHEREAS, said election was called and notice thereof
was given and said election was held, all under and in strict
conformity with law; and
WHEREAS, $250,000,0f said bonds have been heretofore
issued, sold and delivered as a portion and the first install-

ment of said voted authorization of $350000, leaving the,

2.02 - OPTION OF PRIOR REDEMPTION: That the County expressly',`~Y.
reserves the right to redeem those bonds maturing in the years P,r,,~t',__ 'K
1986 through 1992 of this issue, in whole or in part, on . ;5 ;
April 1, 1984, or on any interest payment date thereafter,
by paying to the owners or holders thereof a sum equal to the,
principal amount 'of the bonds called for redemption plus
unpaid accrued interest thereon to the date fixed for•redemp-
tion. If the County elects to redeem all or any part of such
bonds on any such redemption date, notice of the exercise of
the option to redeem shall be given in writing to the bank
at which said bonds are payable, and said notice shall be pub-'
lished one (1) time in a financial journal or publication of
general circulation in the United States of America, which ;
notice shall be mailed to said bank and published in said
journal or publication at least thirty (30) days prior to the
date fixed for redemption. When said bonds, in whole or in
part, have been called for redemption in the manner prescribed,
