---REGULAR MEETING - FEBRUARY 10, 1969
A regular meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos
County, Texas, was held in the Commissioner's Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday,
February 10, 1969 with the following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct of 4.
The minutes of the special metting held January 6, 1969
and the regular meeting held January 13, 1969 were read and
approved without change.
The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted,
the following reports for January.

The Court considered the resignation of Mrs. Fannie Taylor
as Associate Home Demonstration Agent and voted to accept same
effective January 31, 1969.
The application of Miss Barbara L. Dorsey for the position
of Associate Home Demonstration Agent was received together with
a letter of recommendation from Annie Mae Hatchett, District
Home,Demonstration Agent. On motion made and seconded the
Court voted to employee Miss Dorsey, effective March 1, 1969
at the suplemental salary budgeter] for the year 1.969.
The Court next heard a request of the County Attorney
for the relocation of office space. After due discussion the
Court agreed to provide the County Attorney and District Attorney
with separate telephone lines for the convenience of the
public and to approve such changes in offices as may be agreed
upon by the parties.
The Court next heard a request from the Tax Assessor
Collector that the tax roll for the year 1969 be prepared
by an outside agency using a computerized system for such
purpose. After hear a presentation by a representative of
the Steck Company of Austin the Court agreed to consider
bids for same at its regular meeting in March.
In accordance with advertisements duly publighed as result
of action of the Court on January 13, 1969, the Court received the
following bid and proposal of The First National Bank of Bryan,
Texas, to act as Brazos County's depository bank for the two-
year,period beginning February 10, 1969 to February 10, 1971.
The following proposition having been found to be-the best
and only proposal received by the Court, on motion duly seconded
and unanimously adopted the Court voted to accept it and name The
First National Bank of Bryan at Bryan, Texas as the official County
Depository for the coming biennium. In accordance with this
action, the follwoing agreements were approved and ordered recorded,
and the appropriate instruments forwarded to the Texas Education
Agency and to the State Comptroller, both at Austin, Texas:

Dear Sirs:'
The First National Dank of Bryan, Texas, attaches hereto it's cashier's
check in the sum of $20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Dollars), in accordance
with the law providing check accompay our bid for county depository and
that check,be not less than k of 1% of the income of the county during
the past year.
The bank respectfully submits a bid to act as county depository for the
coming'bi-ennium, two years, from February-10, 1969,•to February 10, 1971,
for all county funds, all county school funds, all truFt funds of all
county officials, agreeing to pay on time deposits S% as heretofore,
credited to the general fund monthly, in accordance with present and future
regulations of the Federal Government, agreeing to securerall deposits with
securities approved by acts of the Legislature of Texas, and (b) Fifteen
thousand dollars for each separate account maintained under our Inrmbernhip
in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporhti.on.

We agree 'in 'the future as we have in the years since the county was
founded to be of every possible service and assistance to the court in
the administration of the affairs of the county and school system.

On motion made, seconded and unanimously passed, the
Court voted-to approve the plat of the Needham Estates
Subdivision in Brazos County, with the understanding that
the County would be*under no obligation to build, construct,
or maintain any of the streets or roads in said subdivision.

Court voted to approve the plat of the Oakland Lakes Subdivision
in Brazos County, with the understanding that the County would
be under no obligation to build, construct, or maintain any
of the streets or roads in said subdivision.
The Court next received bids for painting the outside doors
and window frames of all Courthouse offices. The Court deferred
action pending a determination of the scope of the work included
in each bid.
The-Court next considered the matter of the re-alignment
of the Justice of the Peace and Constable Precincts necessary
to conform to the boundries of the voting precincts effective
March 1, 1969. After a thorough discussion the County Judge
moved and Commissioner Nolan seconded that such precincts be
established as follows:

It is the intention of the Commissioners Court to reduce
the number of Justice Courts to a number less than eight prior
to the deadline for filing for the 1970 elections.so that
all interested parties may become candidates for such offices
-as will be established effective January 1, 1971.
On motion made, seconded and unanimously passed the Court
voted to approve all reports and to pay all bills which have
been properly filed and approved.
There being no-further business, the meeting.adjourned.
