M. on Monday, January 13, 1969 with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding; Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1; George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Clyde J. Porterfi.old, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of ?recinct 4. The Court received, approved aid ordered filed aslsubmitted the following reports for December,' 1968: B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer; William Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent; Larry L. Boleman, Assistant County Agricultural Agent; Garland McIlveen, Jr., Associate County Agricultuiral Agent; Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent; Mrs. Fannie J. Taylor, Associate County,-Home Demonstration Agent. The Court received, considered and approved the following reports from County and Precinct officers showing official fees of office collected and remitted to the County Treasurer according to duplicate copies of the Treasuret's Official receipts attached thereto: William R. Buchanan, County Tax Assessor Collector requested an increase of $300.00 per year for the Chief Deputy of the Tax Office and $132.00 per year for the head bookkeeper. John Godfrey requested an increase of $600.00 per year for the Probation Officer and $300.00 per year for the secretery of the Probation Officer. Frank Boriskie, County Clerk requested that the position of Chief Deputy be established at a salary of $4,500.00 per year and that the Deputy most recently hired receive an annual salary of $3,300.00 per year. The following salaries were set at amounts other than those shown in the-budget adopted for 1969; On motion by the County Judge and seconded by Commissioner Porterfield the salary of the Court Baliff was unanimously set at $6,048.00 to be paid out of the Jury fund. On motion by the County .judge and seconded by Commissioner Nolan the salary of the Probation Officer way; On- anlipok sly set at $8,700.00 On motion by Commissioner Dunn and seccnded by Commissioner Stasny the salary of the secretery of the Probation Officer was unanimously set at $39600.00 On motion by the County Judge and st:ocrided by Commissioner Porterfield the County's contribution to the salary of the District Judge was set at $4,200.00 to be paid out of they .jury Fund. On motion by Commissioner Porterfield and seconded by Commissioner Dunn the salary of the chief mechanic at the County 3hop,was set at $5,200.00 and that the assistant mechanic at '4,800.00 per year. On motion by Commissioner Porterfield and seconded by Commissioner Dunn the salary of the Chief Deputy in the County Clerk's office be set at $4,500.00 and that of the most recently hired Deputy set at $3,300.00 per year. On motion by Commissioner Nolan and seconded by Commissioner Porterfield the Court unanimously voted to set all remaining salaries for the year 1969 at the budgeted amount. At the request of Sheriff J. W. Hamilton and on motion by Commissioner Stasny and seconded by Commissioner Dunn the Court unanimously authorized the Sheriff to purchase three dozen mattress, five dozen mattress covers and four dozen blankets for use in the County Jail. The County Judge next presented to the Court a letter from .Sam Rizzo concerning future operation of the Bryan Saddle Club property. The Court voted to take such request under consideration. S t The Court next considered a request from the Texas Travels Commission that the County furnish an additional directional arrow to be errected in Brazos County on the Brazos Trail. On motion by Commissioner Stasny and seconded by Commissioner Nolan the ]Court voted to pay $12.90 for such arrow. The Court next unanimously voted on motion duly,made and seconded to pay all extral help employees at the rate of $1.50 per hour or $12.00 per day for time actually worked. The Court instructed the County Clerk to give notice by publication for three weeks of the receipt of Depository Bids by the Court for the 1969-71 biennum on February 10, 1969 at its regulary meeting. Such notice to he as follows: NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR COUNTY DEPOSITORY "Notice is hereby given that Brazos County will receive bids up to ten o'clock. A. M. on Monday February 10, 1969, for a depository for the biennium of 1969-71, for official County funds, including those of the common school districts. "All funds must be protected by bonds and pledges of cash or securities, as well as. by provisions of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. "All bids must be accompanied by certified check payable to the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas for not less than on-half of the one percent of the county revenue for the year 1968, which shall be forfeited if the successful bidder does not enter into the necessary bonds and pledges of cash or securities.' "Bids will be publicly opened and considered at the time specified, and Brazos County reserves the right to reject any or all bids. "DATED at Bryan, Texas, this 13th day of January 1969. W. R. BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS On motion duly made and seconded the Court unanimously voted to approve the appointement of Jake Cangelose as Assistant Defence Co-ordinator for Brazos County, Texas. On motion duly made and seconded the Court voted to approve the bonds of all officials sworn in on January 1, 1969. On motion duly made and seconded the court voted to adopt the budget for-the year 1969 as set forth in Volume M Page 179 through'page 192 of the minutes of the Commissioner Court of Brazos County, Texas with such amendments as are hereinabove stated.
