M. on Monday,' October 14, 1968, with the following present: William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding'; Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1; George Dunn, Commissioner c Precinct 2; Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; and Frank:.,Boriskie, County Clerk. The minutes of the special meeting held September 30, 1968, were read and approved without change. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the fallowing reports for September 1968: William Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent; Larry L. Boleman, Assistant County Agricultural Agent; ; Garland McIlveen, Jr., Associate County Agricultural Agent; Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent; Mrs. Fannie J. Taylor, Associate County Home Demonstration Agent; The Court received, considered and approved the following .*reports from County and Precinct officers showing official fees of 'office collected and remitted to the County Treasurer, according to duplicate copies of the treasurer's Official receipts attached thereto: William R. Boyett, Justice of Peace, Precinct 7 Place 1 Fees collected and remitted to Brazos County 716.50 Fees to be paid by County for 43 cases :Cal $4.00 172.00 ~ On motion by Commissioner Dunn and seconded by Commissioner Stasny,•the Court unanimously voted to amend the Budget for 1968 to pr,ovide.for the salary "of' the Court Baliff cut' of the Jury Fund in the 'amount, of $5,400.00 per year. The County Judge requested authorizati % on re-examine the policies and agreements under which such .'r'.eXpenditures are made. The Court unanimously agreed that such steps be taken. I ' On recommendation of Commissioner Stasny the Court unanimously voted to purchase a Caterpillar 12F Motor Grader for- the low bid of $189830.00 as submitted by the Mustang Tractor And Equipment Company for Precinct 4. On recommendation of Commissioner Nolan the Court unanimously voted to purchase a Model 120 Motor Grader for the low bid -,f $15,900.00 as submitted by the Mustang Tractor And Equipment Company for Precinct 1. ' i At the re uest , of the q Wellborn ►:ater Supply Corporation 'Commissioner Nolan'moved and Commissi,~ner Stasny seconded that-the' , Commissioners Court of Brazos County recognize the rights of the Wellobrn Water Supply.Corporation to an easement along the Old ,I Highway 6 extending south from Dowling Road for water line purposes.: .':,;4-','Said line having been installed pursuant to Article 1433 of the i .;,.,,.,.,revised ` Civil Statutes of Texas, as shown by a plat recorded in volume 272, page 824 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas. F 1 ~ , After discussion such motion was unanimously adopted. Tnere next was submitted the statement of the Western Union `R.';,"Telegraph Cc'mpany, in the amount of $204.72 for line adjustments ! On motion by missioner Nolan and seconded by Commissioner Stasny the Court unanimously voted to pay such statement out of the West By Pass Fund.' The Court next considered a request from the Commissioners Court 76f , E1 Passo County that support be given to a proposed measure tb' be .,,submitted to the next session of the Legislature which would increase the'automobile sales tax from 3% to 4% with 3-4 of the total amount. , y`'" '"collected being refunded by the State to c'.ounties. On motion by Commissioner Nolan and seconded by Commissioner Porterfield the Court unanimously voted to purchase 134.3 acres from Mr. and Mrs. Mit Bansby for the total sum of $100,637.25 for right of way for the north segment of the West By-Pass. On motion by Commissioner Nolan and seconded by Commissioner' Porterfield the Court unanimously voted to purchase 16.188 acres from Mrs. Mary Opersteny for the total sum of $12,141.00 for right of way for•the north segment of the West By-Pass. On motion duly made and seconded the Court voted to approve all reports and pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved. Sere being of further business the Court adjourned.
