On the 150 day of December, 1967, the Commissioners Court'
of Brazos County, Texas, was convened in special session with the
following members present, to-wit:
William R. Vance, County Judge
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner, Precinct No. 1
George Dunn, Commissioner, Precinct No. 2
Clyde Porterfield, Commissioner, Precinct No., 3','
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner, Precinct'No. A.
Frank Bor_iskie, County Clerk
and at such session, among other proceedings had, the foilowing
order was unani,mousl'y passed, on motion of Commissioner Porterfield,
seconded by Commissioner N-lan:

and District Retirement System, such parti-
cipation to begin and k)e effective cn the first
day of January, 1968.

above shall become member: of the System and
shall be allowed credit for prior service in
accordance with the provisions of sairi Act and
the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Trustees
of the System. Each person who shall become an
employee of the County subsequent to the effect-
ive date of participation and who is not already
a member of the System, shall become a member
at date of his employment, provideci he shall
at such date be less than fifty-eight (58)
years of age.
-Each employee of Brazos County Shall make deposits
to the System for each payroll period at the rate
of seven per centum (7%) of earnings, which
deposits shall be withheld by the County Auditor
from the compensation of the employee, in accord-
ance with the Subsection 1, Section IV of the-act
above mentioned. The rate of deposits herein
designated shall constitute the initial deposit
rate of the County as a participating subdivision
of the System, and will not be changed until it
has been in effect for at least five (5) years.
In addition to deposits, as above specified,
each employee member shall make to the System
expense contributions at such rate (not exceeding
fifty cents (50c) per month) as is set by the

Board of Trustees of the System; and such expense
contributions shall be'withheld from the compen-
sation of the member in like manner as prescribed
above for withholding of deposits to the Employee's
f Savinas Fund of the System:
6. The County shall make benefit contributions to
the System in an amount which for each payroll
neriorl is equal to the sum of deposits made t•p the
System by all of its employees for such p`r_iod;•
and in addition shall make expense contributions r
each montn to the Systeirt which shell equal the
• sum of expense contributions made to the Systcm
for such month by all of the County's emnln•Je cs.
The sums here designated to be paid by the County
to the System are hereby appropriated nut of any,
shall be raid from the respective 'funds from
whicn cmmnensation of the respectiv6 employee
members are paid. y ;

directed to transmit monthly (or at, sucn. times

information as the Board of Trustees of the

during the preceding month, together with the-
amounts withheld from employees as expense ,
contributions to the System for such periods, and
th'e benefit and expense contributions of each of

the County for such periods.

Each employee who claims 'prior service' credit
for service performed before the effective date

file with the County Auditor a detailed written
statement on such forms as are prescribed by or
under the direction of the Board of Trustees -)f
the System of all such prior service. The County
Auditnr is hereby authorized and directeG to
verify each such statement of prior service claimed,
and upon being satisfied that the same is correct,
to certify to the Board of Trustees of the aystem
on behalf of this County: (a) the length of 'prior
service' for which credit is allowed by this County
to the employee-member (stated in terms of months
of such service), ond (b) the 'average prior service
earnings' of the employee-member, to be computed
and reported as directed by the Roard of Trustees
of the System."
On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Court
agreed to accept the low bid of Allied Fence Company in the amount
of $10,275.00 for the construction of deer-proof fencing adjacent
to the Western By-pass in the area of Easterwood Airport. The
remaining bid was that of R. B. Butler Company in the amount of
$17,400.00.
There being no.further business the meeting adjourned.
