( REGULAR MEETING - DECEMBER 119 1967

A regular meeting of,the Commissioner' Court of Brazos County,
Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse
in'Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M. on Monday, December•11,
1967, with the following present:
William R. Vance,` County Judge, presiding;
t. Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2; '
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; °
Frank Horiskie, County Clerk.
The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, November 13,
1967, were read and approved without change.
The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the
following reports for November:
B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer;
B. V. Elkins, Veterans Service Officer; '
William T. Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent
Garland McIlveen, Jr., Associate County Agricultural Aqent;
Miss Emily Ritter; County Home Demonstration Agent;
Mrs. Fannie J. Taylor, Associate Home Demonstration Agent.
The Court receiver], considered and approved the following reports
from County and Precinct officers showing offical fees of office col-
lected and remitted to the County Treasurer, according to duplicate
copies of the Treasurer's offical. receipts attached thereto:

The County Judge announced that a meeting would be held in
Austin on Thursday, December 14, 1967, with officials of The
Texas County and District Retirement System and that the Court
and all elective officals had been invited to attend.
On motion by Commissioner Dunn and seconded by Commissioner
Stasny the Court unanimously voted to begin negotiations with land
owners involved for easements to be used in relocation R E A lines
adjacent to the West By-Pass.
The County Judge then displayed a letter from the Texas
Highway Department stating that the estimate of the cost of the
County's protion for purchase of right-of-way on the Eastern By-
Pass project had been revised from $250,000.00 to $500,000.009
such revision being occasioned by the addition of two interchanges
at Briarcrest Drive and University Drive, the necessity for widening
the right-of-way design, and the general increase in land prices
during the past two years. A discussion of the various methods of
financing this increased cost Ensued.
On motion made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Court
voted to approve all reports and to pay all bills which have been
properly filed and approved.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
