A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court,of Brazos County.,
Texas,'was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse,in
Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M., on Monday, November 13, 1967
with the following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3;,
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk
The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday; October 9,
1967 were read and approved without change.
The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the
following reports for October:

B. V. Elkins, Veterans Service Officer; ;
William T. Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent;
Garland McIlveen, Jr., Associate County Agricultural .Agent;,
Miss Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent; '

The Court received, considered and approved the-following reports
from County and Precinct officers showing official fees of office,col-
lected and remitted to the County Treasurer, according'to duplicate

Upon motion made and duly seconded the Court'unanimously ordered
that the Brazos County Courthouse be closed for the Christmas Holidays
from 6:00 P. M. Friday, December 22, 1967 to 8:00 A. M. Wednesday,.
December'27, 1967, and from 6:00 P. M. Friday, December 29,
1967„to•

Upon motion made by Commissioner Dunn and seconded by Commiss-
ioner Nolan, the County Judge was unanimously authorized to withdraw
$15,000.00 from the $500,000.00 Certificate of Deposit held by the
First National Bank of Bryan in the Western By-Pass Account.
Upon the recommendation of the Commissioner of Precinct 1, Mr.
Raymond Nolan, motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed
authorizing Commissioner Nolan to accept the bid of the Mustang Tractor
and Equipment Company of $18,600.00 for the purchase of a new motor
grader for Precinct 1. Other bids considered were as follows: South i
Texas Equipment Co., Inc., $17,020.00; Browning-Ferris Machinery Co.
$22,381.00; and Boehck Equipment Sales, Inc., $17,612.00
Upon motion duly seconded the Court unanimously accepted the
low bid of Twin City Plumbing Co. of $1,950.00 to lower 400 feet of
.
2-inch water line 6 feet deep and 290 feet of 3/4-inch water line 3
feet deep in the Western B-Pass right of way. The other bid considered
was from the Caldwell Construction Co., Inc. in the.amount of
$2,337.58.
Upon motion made by Commissioner Porterfield, and seconded
by Commissioner Dunn the Court unanimously agreed to reimburse the
Lone Star Gas Co. 72% of the actual cost incurred in the alteration
of their gas transmission line to accommodate the construction of
the West By-Pass at a total cost to the county not to exceed $459.78.
There was presented next to the Court a letter from Bryan
Hospital and a letter from St. Joseph's Hospital expressing their
appreciation to the county for its participation in the Indigent
Hospitalization Fund.
Justice of the Peace B. H. Dewey, Jr. requested that•the Court
give consideration to convert the office now used by the Drivers
License Bureau into a Justice Courtroom to be used by the Justices
of the Peace of Precinct 4.

held in Brazos County on,November 119 1967, which results were '

Upon motion'made, seconded and,-unanimously passed, a Bond of;~
Public Warehouseman in the amount of $5,000.00 executed by Bryan
Compress and Warehouse Company as Principal and the•Fidelity and r•
Deposit 'Company of Maryland as surety to the State of•Texas, dated''.
September 16, 1967.was approved. #
On'motion made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Court
voted to approve all reports and to pay.all billy which have been
properly filed and approved.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
