SPECIAL MEETING - SEPTEMBER 19, 1967
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos,
County, Texas,-'was held in the Commissioners' Court room in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, bedlinning at 10:00 A. M. on Tuesday,
September 19, 1967 with the following present:
William R. Vance, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3; and
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4.
The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, September
119 1967 were read and approved without change.
The County Judge, William R. Vance, submitted the proposed
Budget for the calendar year of 1968, carrying total proposed
expenditures of $914,600.00. Upon motion duly seconded and
unanimously adopted, the Court set a public hearing at 10:00
A. M. on Friday the 29Q day of September, 1967, to be held in
the Commissioners' Court room in Brazos County Courthouse
and ordered that public-notice be given of such hearing by
publishing the following notice in the Bryan Daily Eagle on
..Thursday, September 21, 1967:
NOTICE OF HEARING ON BRAZOS COUNTY BUDGET FOR 1968
Public notice is hereby given that pursuant to
action of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County,
Texas, taken on September 19, 1967, open public hearing
will be held in the Commissioners' Court-room in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, at 10:00 A'. M. on Friday,
September 29, 1967, for consideration of the 1968 Budget
for Brazos County, Texas, submitted to the Court
on September 19, 1967, and now remaining on file in the
office of the County Clerk of said County, all in
accordance with law.
Taxpayers and others interested are invited and
urged to acquaint themselves with said Budget during
the time it remains on file with the Clerk before the
hearing.
At the conclusion of the hearing, final action will
be taken by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County,
Texas, for the adoption of the Budget for 1968, as
finally agreed upon.

Upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the

bond of William R. Vance as County Judge in the amount of
$59000.00 with the Fidelity and Deposit Company as surety was
approved.
Upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the County
Judge, William R. Vance, was authorized to enter into a full
maintenance contract with Brazos Elevator Company of Waco, for
the sum of $115.00 per month. A copy of such agreement is attached
to these minutes.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
The foregoin Minutes, beginning on page -S- and concluded
on page 140, were examined and approved in open Court on the
day of , 1967.

We, theBRAZOS ELEVATOR COMPANY hereinafter called The Contractor, will furnish the following:
a. The contractor shall clean, lubricate and adjust and when necessary replace the machines,
brake-., motors, generators, controllers and controller parts, worms, gears, thrust bearings,
brake magnet coils or brake motors, brake shoes, brushes, windings, commutators, rotating,
element-,, coils, resistance for operating and motor circuits, magnet frames, selectors, level-
ing devices, operating devices, switches on car and in hoistway, hoistway doors and car
operating device, guide shoes, hangers for all doors and car gate, interlock-, and contacts,
car safety device, governors, tension frames and sheaves in pit.
b. The contractor shall keep the guide rails clean and properly lubricated, except when roller
type guides are involved, no rail lubrication shall be used. This contractor shall brush lint
and dirt from guide rail-,, overhead sheaves and beams, counterweight frames, tops of cars,
bottom of platform-, and remove dirt and accumulated rubbish from pits and machine room floors,
c. The contractor shall lubricate all sheave bearings and hoist ropes, repack machine stuffing
box and bearings on motor operated brake-, and refill gear cases and guide lubricators when
required.
d. The contractor shall periodically examine all safety devices and governor, and equalize the
tension on all hoist ropes.
e. The contractor shall renew all wire ropes as often as he deems necessary to maintain an
adequate factor of safety, and repair or replace conductor cables.
f. The contractor shall lubricate, adjust, repair and/or replace all signal controls used in con.
junction with the operation of the equipment.
g. The following items'of elevator equipment are not included in this agreement. Power switches
and feeders to all controllers, shaftway enclosures, shaftway door panels, frames and sills,
car door panels, car floors and eleviitor enclos,ire-, or cabs.

h. The contractor agrees to maintain, while this agreement is in effect, workman's compensation
and employer's public liability insurance in accordance with the laws of the State of'Texas.
