On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to approve the plat
of Holt Hills Addition in Brazos County, with the express stipulation and understanding tha
the County would not be in any manner obligated to construct, repair, or maintain the
streets and roads situated therein.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
REGULAR MEETING - APRIL 10, 1967
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the
Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M., on
Monday, April 10, 1967, with the following present:
W. C. Davis, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond Nolan, Commissionerof Precinct 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; and
Frank Boriskie, County Clerk.
The Court received, approved, and ordered filed, as submitted, the following reports:
B. V. Elkins, Veterans Service Officer, for month of March, 1967;
B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer, for month of March, 1967;
William T. Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent, for month of March, 1967;
Rex Stultz, Asst. County Agricultural Agent, for month of March, 1967;
Miss Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent, for month of March, 1967;
Mrs. Fannie J. Taylor, Associate County Home Dem. Agent, for month of March, 1967;
Garland McIlveen, Jr., Associate County Agr. Agent, for month of March, 1967;
Bryan- Brazos County Health Department, for month of March, 1967.
The Court received, considered, and approved the following reports from County and
Precinct Officers showing official fees of office collected and remitted to the County
Treasurer, according to duplicate copies of Treasurer's official receipts attached thereto:

Rev. John Boozer and four ladies appeared before the Court in connection with the
Brazos Clinic located in the County-owned building at the southeast intersection of 26th an
Washington Avenue. Rev. Boozer explained the services rendered by the Brazos Clinic and
that all personnel, including medical doctors, were donating their time in connection with
the operation of this Clinic. They requested the extended use of the building, andalso re-
quested that the County pay $35.00 for wiring in the building and $24.47 for plumbing neede
therein. On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to authorize Mr
Frank Seale to spend the sum of $35.00 for wiring and the Valley Supply Company of Bryan,
Texas, thesum of $24.47 for plumbing fixtures needed in said building, and that such improv
ments be paid for out of the Permanent Improvement Fund.
Mr. D. B. Cofer, Jr., County Attorney of Brazos County, appeared before the Court and
requested that the Assistant County Attorney's salary be raised from $5,300 per year to
$6,000. On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to take the
(request under advisement.
Mr. John Godfrey, Probation Officer, appeared before the Court and requested authoriz
tion to attend Conference for Probation Officers to be held in Borger, Texas, and that the
County pay his expenses in connection therewith. On motion by Davis, seconded by Nolan, t
Court voted unanimously to authorize Mr. Godfrey to attend this Conference and to pay a

reasonable amount of expenses incurred by him in connection therewith.
The next item of business brought before the Court involved that of houses being moved
on County or other public roads outside the City Limits of Bryan and College Station, and
after much discussion, on motion by Nolan, seconded by Stasny, the Court voted unanimously,
as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED, that prior to the moving of any house or other structure nor normally
drawn on wheels on a County road or other public road within Brazos County outside the
City Limits of any incorporated City, town, or village therein, the County Commissioner)
of the Precinct in which said house or other structure is to be moved shall be
notified in advance of such proposed move and that such County Commissioner ascertain
that the person desiring to move such house or other structure is financially
responsible and that such person be required to enter into a contractual obligation
agreeing to indemnify Brazos County for any damage to such County or public road,
bridges, or any other property under the control and supervision of Brazos County.
On motion by Davis, seconded by Nolan, the Court votedidnanimously to pay the bill
presented by Southwestern Bell Telepho Company in the amount of $2,737.55 incurred in

connection with the Finfeather Road extension.
On motion by Nolan, secondedby Stasny, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the
Sinclair Pipe Line Company to lower its pipe line where same crosses Farm to Market Road
2347, for a cost not to exceed $8,988.03.
The Court next considered the request of the County Judge for a new typewriter for the
County Judge's office, and the bids of Otis McDonald in the amount of $375.00 and Cates
Typewriter Company in the amount of $400.50 were considered. On motion made, seconded, and
unanimously passed, the Court voted to accept the low bid of Cates Typewriter Company.
There came on to be considered the returns of the County School Trustee election held
on the 1st day of April, 1966, and it appearing and is so found that said election was duly
called, that notice of said election was given in conformity with the laws of the State of
Texas, and that said election was in all respects legally held and that said returns were
duly and legally made and that each of the candidates in said election received the
following votes, to-wit:
FOR MEMBER FROM COMMISSIONER PRECINCT NO. 2
W. W. Humphries 13 votes
FOR MEMBER FROM COMMISSIONER PRECINCT NO. 4
Arthur J. Yeager 7 votes
IT IS, THEREFORE, FOUND, DECLARED, AND SO ORDERED, by the Commissioners' Court of
Brazos County, Texas, that at said election the following candidates were duly elected to
the County Board of School Trustees of said County, subject to their taking their oaths,
to-wit: W. W. HUMPHRIES, Member from Commissioner Precinct No. 2; and ARTHUR J. YEAGER,
Member from Commissioner Precinct No. 4.
The above order being read, it was moved, seconded, and unanimously passed.
On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to approve all
reports and to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
SPECIAL MEETING - APRIL 24, 1967
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in
the Courthouse in Bryan at 9:30 A. M. on April 24, 1967, with the following present:
W. C. Davis, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2; and
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3.
Commissioner Dunn submitted two bids on a two-ton dump truck for Precinct 2, as
follows: Corbusier Chevrolet Company $4,200.00; International Harvester $3,345.31.
IIOn motion by Davis, seconded by Nolan, the Court voted unanimously to accept the low bid of
)International Harvester for the dump truck for Precinct 2.
