Preliminary to the selection of an official County Depository for the biennium of 1967-
8, and in accordance with the provisions of Article 2544 of the Revised Civil Statutes of
exas as amended, on motion by Stasny, seconded by Nolan, the Court voted unanimously to
uthorize the County Judge to advertise for bids from interested banks by publication of the
ollowing Notice in the Bryan Daily Eagle once each week for three weeks prior to the regul
ebruary meeting of the Court:
"NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR COUNTY DEPOSITORY
"Notice is hereby given that eiazos County w 11 receive bids up to ten
o'clock A. M. on Monday, February 13, 1967, for a depository for the biennium
of 1967-69, for official County funds, including those of the common school
districts.
"All funds must be protected by bonds and pledges'of cash or securities,
as well as by provisions of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
"All bids must be accompanied by certified check payable to the Commissioners'
Court of Brazos County, Texas, for not less than one-half of one per cent of the
bounty revenue for the year 1966, which shall be forfeited if the successful bidder
does not enter into the necessary bonds and pledges of cash or securities.
"Bids will be publicly opened and considered at the time specified, and -
Brazos County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
"DATED at Bryan, Texas, this 9th day of January, 1967.

A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in
he Commissioners' Court room of the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10 00 A. M., o
fonday, February 13, 1967, with the following present

In accordance with advertisements duly published as result of action of the Court on
January 9, 1967, the Court received the following bid and proposal of The First National
a Bank of Bryan, Texas, to act as Brazos County's depository bank for the two-year period be-
ginning February A 1967, to Februaryl3, 1969. The following proposition having been found
to be the best and only proposal received by the Court, on motion by Stasny, seconded by
Nolan, the Court voted unanimously to accept it and name The First National Bank of Bryan
at Bryan, Texas, as the official County Depository for the coming biennium. In accordance
with this action, the following agreements were approved and ordered recorded, and the
appropriate instruments forwarded to the Texas Education Agency and to the State Comptrolle ,
both at Austin, Texas

"The above is contingent on membership,in the FDIC by the depository bank. Please

"THE CONDITIONS of the above contract are such that, whereas, the above bounden

113. That, at the expiration of the term for which it has been chosen, it will turn
_ over to its successor all the funds, property, and otherthings of value, coming into
its hands as depository, and return the securities pledged to the pledgor. In the
event of any indebtedness arising by virtue of the violation of any or all conditions
of this contract, the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, is hereby
authorized to sell at public or private sale, with or without notice to the pledgor,

the securities or any part thereof, and apply the proceeds of sale to the satisfaction
of such indebtedness.
"THE CONDITIONS of this contract are such that if the said depository bank shall per-

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS
"The undersigned bank, the FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF BRYAN, of Bryan, Texas, a member
of the FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION, desires to become the county school
fund depository of Brazos County, Texas, under the terms of an Act of the Federal
Congres9providing for the protection of deposits up to Ten Thousand Dollars
(510,000.00)
"The applicant (No officer or director of which is a member of the Commissioners'
Court) agrees to become liable for all the school funds of the County of Brazos,

The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, convened
in regular session at a regular term of said Court at the County
Courthouse in the City of Bryan, Texas, on the 13th day of
February, 1967, with the following members and the County Clerk
present, to-wit

transacted
Commissioner Porterfield introduced an order and made a
motion that the same be adopted. The order was read in full.
Commissioner Nolan seconded the motion for adoption of the order.
The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the order, prevailed
by the following vote
AYES Commissioners Nolan, Dunn, Porterfield
and Stasny.
NOES None
The County Judge thereupon announced that the motion had
duly and lawfully carried, and that the order had been duly and
' lawfully adopted. The order thus adopted follows
BE IT RESOLVED that an election be held throughout Brazos County, Texas, on the
11th day of March, 1967, for the purpose of voting For or Against the issuance
of !800,000 in bonds to be used for the purchase of right-of-way for the extension
of Farm-to-Market Road 2818 from Highway Six South to Highway Six North on the
West side of Bryan- College Station communities, and that the citizens also vote
on whether or not to levy a special tax, not to exceed 304, to pay for such bonds.
And, further, that the election judges designated by the Commissioners' Court for
the year 1967 be appoined as election judges for this speciaYelection.
On motion by Dunn, seconded by Porterfield, the Court passed a Resolution designatin
A. G. Edwards and Sons of Bryan, Texas, to handle the sale of the right-of-way bonds in the
t event the election carries in favor of the issuance of such bonds. The vote on such motion
Ryas four to one, with Commissioner Stasny voting against the motion.
On motion by Davis, seconded by Dunn, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the

County Clerk, effective January 1, 1967, the payment for such indexes for the year 1967 to
be made from the funds budgeted for extra help in the County Clerk's office.
On motion by Porterfield, seconded by Stasny, Justice of Peace B. H. Dewey, Jr., was
authorized to attend the Justices of Peace and Constables' Conference to be held at Texas
A&M University on March 20- 22, Brazos County to pay the registration fee of 115.00. '
On motion by Davis, seconded by Dunn, Darco Construction Company's Estimate no. 6,
in the amount of $26,422.64, for work on the Finfeather Road, was ordered paid.
On motion by Dunn, seconded by Porterfield, the Court voted unanimously to raise the
salary of Mr. John Godfrey, Probationofficer, the sum of $50.00 per month, effective',
February 1, 1967.
On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to approve all
reports and to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved.
