Boozer, representing an organization known as Planned Parenthood," appeared before the Court and requested the use of the ground floor of he County building located at the southeast corner of 26th and Washington Streets for the use by this organization in furnishing the indigent citizens of Brazos County with birth con, rol information and prenatal care, and with the further request that the County pay the tilities and telephone bills for the first sixty days of such occupancy, it being understoo( that the County would be put to no other expense in connection with the building or use them n motion by Nolan, seconded by Porterfield, the Court voted unanimously to authorize such group to use the first floor of this building for a period of one year and that the County ay the utilities and telephone bills for the first sixty days. The matter of salaries was next presented to the Court. On motion by Dunn, seconded b! Porterfield, the Court voted to set the salary of the Secretary in the County Attorney's ffice at $3,600.00. On motion by Nolan, seconded by Stasny, the Court voted to increase th glary of one deputy in the County Clerk's office from $3,600.00 to $3,900.00, and to increa he salaries of two deputies in the County Clerk's office from $3,300.00 to $3,600.00. On otion by Dunn, seconded by Stasny, the Court voted to approve all other salaries as set out n the Budget. Mr. B. H. Dewey, Jr., Justice of Peace, Precinct 4, Place 1, requested the Court to employ a part-time Clerk for the use of his Court and that of Precinct 4, Place 2. January 1, Saturday morning prig to Easter, July 4, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving, December 23 and December 25. The County Judge reported to the Court that the outside lights on the Courthouse f had not been working for some time but that the cost of repairing or replacing the IBM j control system that regulated the turning on and off of such lights was prohibitive. On I motion by Dunn, seconded by Porterfield, the Court voted unanimously to authorize Mr. ~ Frank Seale to fix thebutside lights and necessary switches to'turn same on and off manual I at a cost not to exceed 51,250.00. Buchanan and Associates, Inc., for engineerin services on Finfeather Road extension. On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to reimburse Miss Emily Ritter the amount of $30.85 for her out-of-pocket expense in presenting educational • programs during 1966. Commissioner Porterfield presented the following bids for a motor grader to be pur- chased by his Precinct 3, as follows South Texas Equipment Company, Inc., Houston, Texas, $18,475.00 Browning- Ferris Machinery Co., Houston, Texas, $18,395.00 On motion by Stasny, seconded by Dunn, Commissioner Porterfield was authorized to accept the low bid of Browning- Ferris Machinery Company of $18,395.00 for the purchase of the motor grader for his Precinct. On motion by Dunn, seconded by Nolan, the Court voted unanimously to borrow $18,000.0 from the First Bank and Trust of Bryan, Texas, and to issue its Time Warrant in that amount, bearing interest at the rate of 43!96 per annum and payable out of the Road and Bridge operat ing fund of Precinct 3 in four equal annual installments, beginning February 1, 1968. This Time Warrant was to be issued for the purpose of paying for the motor grader road machine authorized to be purchased by Precinct 3. The following Memorandum of Agreement between Brazos County and Texas A&M University was unanimously approved by the Court "MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT "Agreement Made and entered into as of September It 1966, between Brazos County, Texas and Texas A&M University, as follows 1. In consideration of the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00), Brazos • County will supply to Texas A&M University the services described in the copy of a memorandum dated November 16, 1966 to Mr. T. D. Cherry from Dr. A. I. Flowers attached hereto and made a part hereof. 2. "The term of this agreement is for one year from September 1, 1966 to August 31, 1967, both dates inclusive, subject to extension and renegotiation upon mutual agreement. BE IT RESOLVED that Jersey Street, lying between Highway Six and FM Road 2818 in the City of College Station, Brazos County, Texas, be designated as a Farm to Market Road and that such Street be designated as the Number One Farm-to-Market Project and Allocation of Brazos County for 1967, and that the Texas Highway Depart- ment be requested to so designate said Jersey Street and approve it for construction for the year 1967. "NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR COUNTY DEPOSITORY "Notice is hereby `grven that Brazos County~il receive bids up to ten o'clock A. M. on Monday, February 13, 1967, for a depository for the biennium of 1967-68, for official County funds, including those of the common school districts. "All funds must be protected by bonds and pledges4of cash or securities, as well as by provisions of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. "All bids must be accompanied by certified check payable to the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, for not less than one-half of one per cent of the bounty revenue for the year 1966, which shall be forfeited if the successful bidder does not enter into the necessary bonds and pledges of cash or securities.
