On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to approve all report
and to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
SPECIAL MEETING - NOVEMBER 29, 1966
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the
Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, at 10.00 A. M., on November 29
1966, with the following present „
W. C. Davis, County Judge, presiding,
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1,
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2,
C. J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3,
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, and
A. B. Syptak, County Clerk.
The County Judge submitted the proposed budget for the fiscal (calendar) year of 1967,
carrying total proposed expenditures and reserves of $834,000.00 with a recommended tax rate
of $1.10 per $100.00 valuation. Upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the
Court voted to accept the proposed Budget and to set public hearing thereon.
Motion made, duly seconded, and unanimously adopted, by which it was ordered that the
proposed Budget for 1967 be filed with the County Clerk and set down for public hearing in
the Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, at 10&00 A. M. on Monday,
December 19, 196$; and that public advertisement of this hearing be made by publishing the
following notice in the Bryan Daily Eagle of Bryan, Texas, once each week for two weeks
prior to the public hearing
"NOTICE OF HEARING ON BRAZOS COUNTY BUDGET FOR 1967
"Public notice is hereby given that pursuant to action of the Commissioners'
Court of Brazos County, Texas, taken on November 29, 1966, open public hearing will
be held in the Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse in Bryan,~Texas, at 10 00
A. M. on Monday, December 19, 1966, for consideration of the 1967 Budget for Brazos
County, Texas, submitted to the Court on November 29, 1966, and now remaining on file
in the office of the County Clerk of said County, all in accordance with law.
"Taxpayers and others interested are invited and urged to acquaint themselves
with said Budget during the time it remains on file with the Clerk before the hearing.
"At the conclusion of the hearing, final action will be taken by the
Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, for the adoption of the Budget
for 1967, as finally agreed upon.

REGULAR MEETING - DECEMBER 12, 1966
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the
Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00 A. M., on
Monday, December 12, 1966, with the following present:

Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1,
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2,
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4.
The Court received, approved, and ordered filed, as submitted, the following reports:

The following Order from District Judge John M. Barron, dated November 14, 19669 was
resented to the Court and unanimously ordered recorded inthe Minutes:
"ORDER APPOINTING ASSISTANT COUNTY AUDITOR
"On this the 14th day of November, 9 ,ar use conauT~allenlwlth the County
Auditor and the County Judgeof Brazos County, Texas, and the Court determining that there is
a necessity and a pressing need for an Assistant County Auditor for Brazos County, Texas, tol
assist F. J. Yitopil in the proper exercise of his duties
"It is therefore Ordered, adjudged and decreed that Mrs. Mary Nichols be and she is
hereby appointed Assistant County Auditor to discharge her duties as the law requires under
the supervision and direction of F. J. Yitopil, County Auditor of Brazos County, Texas.
Said Assistant Auditor shall take the usual oath oYoffice for faithful performance of duties
and is directed to give such bond as the County Auditor may determine, which bond shall be
aid for by the County and shall run in favor of the County and of the County Auditor as
their interests may appear.
"The salary for such Assistant County Auditor shall be and the same is hereby fixed at
5350.00 per month, which shall be paid out of the salary fund or any appropriate fund by
razos County, Texas, and this Order shall be effective on November 15, 1966, at 8 00

John M. Barron, Judge, 85th Judicial District."
There was presented to the Court a letter from Texas State Department of Health, dated
November 28, 1966, to the effect that the appointment of County Health Officer for Brazos
County will terminate on December 31, 1966. On motion by Stasny, seconded by Nolan, the
Court voted unanimously to reappoint Dr. R. Henry Harrison, Jr., as County Health Officer
for the year 1967, and that the appointment be certified to the Texas State Department of
I Health.
