The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the problem in regard to the Pinfeather Road t extension, concerning telephone lines located beneath the right-of-way of the road It was ' i reported that one telephone line had been broken and the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company had requested the County to authorize them to remove the entire line lying beneath the right- ! of-way of the road at a cost of $2,600 00 After discussion, on motion by Nolan, seconded by Dunn, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company to re- Locate the telephone line lying beneath the Pinfeather Road extension, and that the County t pay up to $2,600.00 for such relocation. T TOTAL INVOICE $5,997 19 The invoice of May 7, 1966 in amount of $592 00 for surveying is included in the above total That invoice has not been paid, and should be destroyed " There was next considered by the Court the question of acquiring right-of-way for the Farm-to-Market Roads contemplated for the west side of the cities of College Station and Bryan as previously authorized and discussed with the State Highway District Engineer, Mr. Joe Hanover in regard to the acquisition of a 300-foot right-of-way for such Farm-to-Market Roads, anticipating that a second road would be built alongside the first completed road within the next few years, thereby resulting in a four-lane exprgssway-type road around the west side of Bryan and College Station After much discussion, on motion by Porterfield, , seconded by Dunn, the Court voted unanimously to acquire a 300-foot right-of-way for the con- _ struction of such Farm-to-Market roads, as requested by the Highway Department. The following bids were presented to the Court for the purchase of a one-half-ton pick-up truck to be used by the Brazos County Shop CEN-TEX TRACTOR-GMC COMPANY - One-half ton pick-up $1,660 00 1 T CADE MOTOR COMPANY - Ford one-half ton pick,-up $1,674 89 • CORBUSIER CHEVROLET - One-half ton pick-up $2 150 00 , . On motion by Porterfield, seconded by Dunn, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to accept the low bid of Cen-Tex Tractor- GMC Company for the sum of $1,660 00, On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to purchase the election supplies for the General Election in November from Steck,Company. - The following letter was presented by the County Judge for the consideration of the Court "BRAZOS COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION COMMITTEE y P 0.
