McGee, Justice of Peace, Precinct 4, Place 2 Fees collected and remitted to Brazos County 2,200 79 Fees to be paid by County for 100 cases @ $4 00 400 00 Jesse Stanfield, Constable, Precinct 4 (fees) 16 00 ® On motion made seconded, and unanimously passed the Court voted to accept the low bid of Bacon's Interiors in the amount of $309 75 for new draperies in the Sheriff's office. The other bid considered was that of Allen's Blind and Drapery Shop in the total sum of $325 k On motion by Davis, seconded by Dunn, the Court voted unanimously to pay Spencer J. Buchanan and Associates the sum of $592 00 for surveying services rendered in locating the center line and running cross sections on the proposed Fin Feather Road. rr The County Judge next presented the following letter from Spencer J Buchanan and " Associates in regard to the Fin Feather Road Extension ~,rs k~ "As discussed with you in our offices on February 11 1966, we are proceeding ith th i i i i i w e surveys, so ls nvest gat on, and plans and specif cations for construction r of the road between Carson Street and the F and B Road at College Station We will coordinate the survey and plan work completed by the Texas A&M University with ours, and prepare a consolidated set of plans and specifications for bidding on the entire # project We will perform the field and engineering work at our standard hourly and unit rates. It is estimated that our costs will be between five and six thousand rNti dollars Unless there are delays as a result of coordinating the desires of the interested parties, we should have the plans and specifications completed in about {y ~ • four more weeks , 9 ~ "We appreciate the opportunity to serve the County, and will do our utmost to complete the work expeditiously and economically. ' ` "Ve truly yours, /s;7Zael J Burkhatt " ' . on motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to authorize Spencer J. 1 Buchanan and Associates to continue on such Fin Feather Road Extension on the basis outlined + in said letter. C I .C- 532 May 9, 1966 I~ On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to pay the ex- penses of Dr. R. Henry Harrison, Jr., County Health Officer, to the State Health Convention, in the amount of $105.00. On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to pay J. W. Hall, Jr., the sum of $312.84 as the balance owing for professional services rendered Brazos County in connection with the preparation of plans and specifications and taking of bids on mechanic work for additional comfort air conditioning of the District Court room area in the Brazos County Courthouse. On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to deposit Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000 00) in the Sinking Fund Account in a Savings Account in The First National Bank of Bryan, the County depository. At the request of the Brazos County Community Action Committee, the following Orde was passed "THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF BRAZOS 'WHEREAS, The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County has heretofore endorsed and sponsored the formation of the Brazos County Community Action Committee, and 'WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Court that the record reflect that said Committee is the only agency recognized by the Court as having authority to administer programs authorized by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 in Brazos County, "NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the Brazos County Community Action Committee, acting by and through its Board of Directors and duly elected officers, be and the same is hereby designated as the sole and only agency recognized by this Court as having authority to determine the policy, co-ordinate the programs and disburse the funds in Brazos County under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 "ENTERED this the 9th day of May, L966 /s/ Raymond A Nolan /s/ George Dunn Commissioner, Precinct #1 Commissioner, Precinct #2 /s/ Clyde J Porterfield /s/ W A Stasny Commissioner, Precinct #3 / Commissioner, Precinct #4 s/ W C Davis County Judge is On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to approve all reports and to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved There being no further business, the meeting adjourned The foregoing Minutes, beginning on Page 531 and concluded on Page 532, were examined and approved in oplp}~ Court on the 13th of June, 1966 W.
