Hamilton presented to the Court a request that he be authorized to employ an additional male deputy at an annual salary of $4,500 00, and that he be authorized to rail two of his present deputies to $4,800 00 annually. On motion by Dunn, seconded by Nolan, and unanimously passed, such request was granted and a new deputy was authorized to be employed b the Sheriff's Department at an annual salary of $4,500.00 and two deputiest (designated by Sheriff Hamilton) salaries to be raised to $4,800 00 annually Mr Raymond Buchanan, Tax Assessor- Collector, requested that the salaries of three deputies in his office be increased to $3,600.00 annually On motion by Dunn, seconded by Nolan, such request was granted and the three deputies' salaries were increased to $3,600.00, by unanimous vote. On motion by Stasny, seconded by Nolan, and unanimously passed, the Justice of Peace, Precinct 4, Place 1, and Justice of Peace, Precinct 4, Place 2, salaries were eat at $100.00 per month plus their fees of office. On motion by Dunn, seconded by Nolan, the Court voted unanimously to take under advise- ment the request of Judge Dewey, Justice of Peace, Precinct 4, Place 1, that a part-time secretary be employed for the Justices of the Peace, Precinct 4 On motion by Porterfield, seconded by Dunn, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to raise the salary of the secretary in the Probation office to $2,700.00 annually. Lawrence Estate,^which had i been offered to the County for the sum of Ninety-five Thousand Dollars ($95,000 00), wnd which property lies south of the County Clerk's office on 26th Street After much discussion as to the need of the County, the desirability and feasibility of purchasing aame and paying for such property, on motion by Davis, seconded by Porterfield, the Court voted unanimously to purchase said property for the sum of Ninety-five Thousand Dollars and finance the same by issuing Time Warrant] in the amount of Ninety-five Thousand Dollars, pursuant to the follow- ing ORDER J "IT IS ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED that the Court approve the issuance of a Time Warrant in the sum of $95,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing, paying for, and improving certain land in the City of Bryan, Texas, in a Block adjoining the Courthouse Block, such property to be used for automobile parking for employees of the County and for persons having business with offices in the Courthouse The Warrant will be paid in ten (10) annual install ments, the first nine (9) of which shall be for the sum of $10,000.00 each, and the tenth or last installment shall be for the sum of $5,000 00, the first installment being due on the 10 day of February, 1967, and one installment to be due on the 10 day of each February there- after until the full amount of said Warrant shall have been paid, the Warrant will bear interest from date of issue at k rate not to exceed 5% per annum, interest to be payable annually on each principal installment paying date. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED that there shall be an annual levy and • collection by taxation of a sufficient amount to pay all interest on said Warrant and to. create a sinking fund sufficient to retire all annual installments on said Warrant as they 1 i shall become due and payable Such Warrant shall be sold to the best bidder and shall be paid out of the "PERMANENT IMPROVEMENT FUND! M., January 14, 1966, with the following present W.
