C DAvis, County Judge Raymond A Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1 George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2 C J Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3 W. A Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4 A. B Syptak, County Clerk and the following member absent, to-wit NONE, when, among other business, the following was transacted Commissioner Porterfield introduced an Order and made a motion that the same be adopted. The Order was read in full Commissioner Dunn seconded the motion for adoption of the Order The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the order, prevailed by the followin vote AYES Commissioners Nolan, Dunn, Porterfield, and Stasny. NOES None. The County Judge thereupon announced that the order had been duly and lawfully adopted The Order thus adopted follows ORDER CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF ROAD BOND ELECTION - HELD IN BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THE 26TH DAY OF JUNE, 1965, AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT WHEREAS there was held in Brazos County, Texas, on the 26th day of June, 1965, an election at which was submitted to the duly qualified resident electors of said County who owned taxable property within said County and who had duly rendered the same for taxation, the propositions of issuing (1) $400,000 bonds of said County for the purpose of the construction, maintenance and operation of macadamized, graveled, or paved roads and turn- pikes, or in aid thereof, to-wit, The acquisition of rights-of-way for State highways and County roads, within ;aid County, and the levy of taxes in the payment thereof, and (2) 1200,000 bonds of said County for the purpose of the acquisition of machinery and equip- ment to be used for the construction, maintenance, and operation of macadamized, graveled, or paved roads and turnpikes, or in aid thereof, within said County, and the levy of taxes in payment thereof, and WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 1,020 votes, of which number there were cast PROPOSITION NO ONE FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $400,000 RIGHT-OF-WAY BONUS AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF 699 votes AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $400,000 RIGHT-OF-WAY BONDS AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF 321 votes MAJORITY FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $400,000 RIGHT-OF-WAY BONDS AND THE LEVYING OF-THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF 978 votes - PROPOSITION NO TWO FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $200,000 ROAD MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT BONDS AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF 446 votes` AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $200,000 ROAD MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT BONDS AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF 574 votes MAJORITY AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $200,000 ROAD MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT BONDS AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF 129 votes as shown in the official election returns heretofore submitted to the Commissioners' Court and filed with the County Clerk, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED BY THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS Section 1 That said election was duly called and notice thereof given in accordanceivith law, that said election was held in the manner required by law, that due returns of sad election have been made by the proper officers, that only duly qualified resident electors of Brazos County, Texas, who owned taxable property within said County and who had duly rendered Same for taxation were permitted to vote in said election Section 23 - That-said election has resulted favorably to the issuanc6 of the bonds-described in Proposition No. One submitted to said electors and the levy of taxes in payment of said bonds and a majority of more than two-thirds of the qualified voters voting at said election voted in favor of the issuance of the bonds described in Proposition No. One. Section 3 That said election has not resulted favorably to the issuance of the bonds described in Proposition No Two ubmitted to paid electors an¢ he levy of ta*es in payment of said bonds, and that a majority of two-thirds of the qualified voters vot ng at saiid election have u not voted in favor of the bonds described in said Proposition No Two ,4 . 49fi - ~T July 1, 1965 ti Section 4 That the Commissioners' Court is not authorized to issue the bonds described in Proposition No Two, but the Commissioners' Court is now authorized to issue all of the bonds described in said Proposition No. One and levy and collect taxes in payment thereof and do all other things necessary and convenient in c 7n c on therewith. A Stasny Commissioner of Precinct 4 The court next considered the request of Mr John Godfrey, Probation Officer, to pur- chase an electric typewriter, from the following bids received by him Cates Typewriter Co. $346.50, Otis McDonald's Business Machines $310.00. On motion made, seconded, and unanimous passed, the Court voted to accept the bid of Otis McDonald's Business Machines for $310 00 a the lowest and best bid, and authorized Mr Godfrey to purchase said typewriter. The Court next considered the request of Mr W. D. Burley, District Clerk, to pur- chase a new dry-process copying machine for his office. Mr. Burley stated that he had re- quested several companies to submit bids, but had received only one bid and that was from Otis McDonald's Business Machines, as follows 1 SCM Microstatic Copier Model 44 $1075 00 Less trade-in 25 00 1 Photostat copier M50 tM The Court thereupon, on motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, authorized Mr Burley to purchase the machine from Otis McDonald's Business Machines for the sum of $1050.01 There being no further business, the Court adjourned. REGULAR MEETING - JULY 12, 1965 i t r fl 4 i~ 1 A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10 00 A. M. on Monday, July 12, 1965, with the following present W. C Davis, County Judge, presiding, Raymond A Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1, George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3, and W. A Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4. The Court received, approved, and ordered filed as submitted the following reports B. V.
