REGULAR MEETING- JUNE 14, 1965
A regular meeting of the Commissionere• Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in
the Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10 00 A. M. on
Monday, June 14, 1965, with the following present- "

The Court received, approved, and order6d filed, as submitted, the following report

Mr. Jake Cangelose, Head of the Brazos County Civil Defense Unit, appeared before the
Court and reported on the completion of the metal building adjoining St Joseph Hospital,
wherein a 200-bed emergency hospital facility has been stored. Mr Cangelose further report-
ed that the Civil Defense Committee contemplated having an Open House at such emergency
hospital facility in the near future, and asked permission of the Court to have printed
small pamphlets setting out the work of the Civil Defense organization in Brazos County. On
motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to authorize Mr. CangeLose to
have such pamphlets printed in time for the Open House, to be paid for by the County. h
On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to authorize the
spending of not more than $200 00 for the purchase and installation of a 500-gallon gasoline
tank to be used in connection with an 18 K. A. W. Generator to be used by the Department of
Public Safety in the Courthouse
The Court next considered a request from Judge B H Dewey, Jr , Justice of Peace,
Precinct 4, Place 1, and Jesse Stanfield, Constable, Precinct 4, for permission to attend a
Justices of Peace and Constables Conference in Dallas, Texas. On motion made, seconded, and
unanimously passed, the Court voted to pay the registration fee of Judge Dewey and Mr.
Stanfield at such Conference
The Court next considered bids for the installation of a door and bookcase in the
County Attorney's office, such bids being, as follows
Vance & Thurmond $475.00 Gus Wehmeyer & Son $453.67 O&M Contractors $185.00
On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to accept the bid of O&M
Contractors for the sum of $185 00
The County Judge presented to the Court Texas Highway Department Minute Order No.
56173, passed June 1, 1965, reading, as follows
"MINUTE ORDER
"In BRAZOS COUNTY a FARM TO MARKET ROAD is hereby designated extending from end of
Spur 135, S-out eas and Northeast to State Highway 6, 1 0 mile Southeast of College
Station, a distance of approximately 3 8 miles, subject to the condition that Brazos
County will furnish all required right of way clear of obstructions and free of cost
to the State
"At such time as the County shall accept the provision of this Order and agree to
the furnishing of the required right of way, the State Highway Engineer is directed to
proceed with the engineering development and construction of Grading and Structures in
the most feasible and economical manner, at an estimated cost of $133,000, and to assume
the road for State maintenance upon completion of the construction herein authorized.
"This Order is subject to acceptance by the County and if not accepted within 90
days of the date hereof, the action herein contained shall be automatically cancelled."
WHEREUPON, Motion was made by George Dunn and seconded by W. A. Stasny that the Brazos County
Commissioners' Court accept the provisions contained in Minute Order No 56173 passed by the
State Highway Commission on June L, 1965, for the improvement by the Texas Highway Department
of the roads described below and that Brazos County agrees to furnish all required right-of-
way free of cost to the State
"A Farm to Market road extending from end of Spur 135, Southeast and Northeast to
State Highway 6, 1 0 mile Southeast of College Station, a distance of approximately
3 8 miles 1) Grading and structures only.
Vote on the action was, as follows FOR- unanimously WHEREUPON, the motion was declared
carried

The Court next unanimously voted to adopt a Resolution expressing regret on the death
of Mr Adolph Stasny, brother of County Commissioner W. A Stasny, who passed away recently.
On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to approve all re-
ports and to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved.
