Gray, Constable ti 18.75 The Commissioners next discussed the payment of a bounty on wolves and coyotes in Brazos County, and Mr. Poore of Texas A&M University appeared and gave his opinion that the County, would be better served by the employment of trappers ae had been done in the past. After much discussion, on motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to pay a ten-dollar-per-head bounty on wolves and coyotes killed in Brazos County, Texas, begin- ning November 10, 1964, provided that before such bounty be paid there be a certificate signs by the Sheriff's Department and/or the Parke and Game Commission, certifying that the animal was killed in Brazos County, Texas ' There was next presented to the Court a proposal that Block 232 in the City of Bryan, Texas, owned by the Boys' Club, be exempt from County taxes, it being pointed out that the x Boys' Club of Bryan, Texas, is a non-profit, charitable organization. On motion made, - r seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to exempt the County taxes on Block 232 in the City of Bryan as long as said'property is owned by the Boys' Club of Bryan, Texas • There was next presented to the Commissioners' Court the Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Texas A&M University that Brazos County enter into the establishment of i zonin n l ti f th E d i g regu a o s or e asterwoo A rport at Texas A&M University, said Resolution being, , as follows- ' R E S O L U T I O N i PROMULGATI G REGULATIONS t TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY i i "On motion by Mr Whittenburg, seconded by Dr Beutel, and approved by a t Y majority Vote of the Board, in order to prevent the creation or establishment of i airport hazards in rotation to Easterwood Airport, the Chancellor was authorized to request the governing bodies of the City of College Station, the City of Boryan~ - w- 9"R'es •.t ~„w-.... .rn ry F >i' n- r ~ - .l+e~tw - V ~i1 ~ a~ t ~ 459 i November 9, 1964 and the County of Brazos, pursuant to their authority under the Airport Zoning Act, to promulgate airport zoning regulations for airport hazards within their territorial limits The Chancellor was further authorized to cooperate with i such governing bodies to the extent necessary to accomplish the promulgation ~I of the zoning regulations " On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to create such • Joint Easterwood Airport Zoning Board, which Board shall have the powers and exercise the duties set forth in Sections 2 and 3 of Chapter 991, Acts of the Fiftieth Legislature, Regular Session 1947, as amended (Articles 46e-1 to 46e-15, as amended, Vernon's Civil Statutes), and that the two members of such Board to be appointed by the Commissioners' Court be OUT DAVIS and A. 0. NIXON. • , r 101 Raymond B. Buchanan, Tax Assessor and Collector, presented three bids fora typewrite for his office, which bids were, as follows- „ Olympia $209.79; Royal $211.50; Remington $211.50. It appearing that the bid of McDonald Office Machines Company for the Olympia typewriter is the lowest and best bid, on thotion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, Mr. Buchanan was authorised to purchase the Olympia typewriter from the McDonald Office Machines Company. The following letter was presented to the Commissioners-- , "SAINT ANDREW'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH P. 0. Box 70, Bryan, Texas November 5th, 1964 - - , "The Hon. W. C. Davis, County Judge Brazos County Courthouse Bryan, Texas Dear Judge Davis- "St Andrew's Episcopal Church in downtown Bryan has recently acquired the building adjacent to their property which was formerly owned by Mrs. A. C. Plasek. The Church uses the entire upstairs portion of the building in its religious education program The downstairs portion is, as you know, rented to B & M Music Company and to the Curry Fur Company. Howeveri the rent income! received from these sources is being applied to the payments we make on the building, therefore could be considered for Church use In the light of this _ the Vestry of St Andrew's Church requests that you and the county Commissioners earnestly consider the removal of this property from the tax rolls or such re- duction in said taxes as you may find justifiable "We will of course pay in full the 1964 taxes it was my intention to enclose our check in the amount of $116 45 with this letter but my Treasurer, Mr. Carlson, is out of town for the day Please be assured that we will meet this obligation immediately. Reeves, Rector " It was pointeQbut that the lower portion of the above building is being rented out by the Church and is income-producing and that the upper portion of said building is used for Church purposes. On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted to exempt from taxation the second floor or upper portion of said building as long as same is owned by St. Brew's Episcopal Church, but that the lower portion of said building remain subjeet,to the county tax. _ The returns of the General Election held on November 3, 1964, were then canvassed by he Court and the results thereof forwarded to the Secretary of State and a copy thereof filed n the office of the County Clerk to be recorded in his office. r on motion seconded and unanimously passed,-the,Court voted to approve all reports and to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved. , There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
