REGULAR MEETING - MARCH 9_, 1984
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at
10 00 A. M., on Monday, March 9, 1964, with the following present
W. C Davis, County Judge, presiding,
Raymond Nolan, Commissioner of precinct No. 1,
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct No 2,
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct No 3,
W A Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct No 4, and
A B Syptak, County Clerk
The Court received, approved, and ordered filed, as submitted, the following
reports-
B V. Elkins, Welfare Officer for the month of February, 1964, N
B. V Elkins, Veterans Service Officer, for the month of February, 1964,
William T. Sistrunk, County Agent, for month of February, 19641,
C 0. Wheeler, Jr , Assistant County Agent, for months of January
and February, 1964,
Emily Ritter, Home Demonstration Agent, for month of February, 1964,

The Court received, considered, and approved the following reports from
County and Precinct Officers showing official fees of office collected and remitted to the
Countbr Treasurer, according to duplicate copies of Treasurer's official receipts attached
thereto

Then came on the matter of pucchasing new draperies *or the office of
the County Agents, and after considering three bid4, -the Court voted'.to purchase tW,
,the draperies'.from,Allen's Blind $ Drapery Shop, at 3506 Texas Avenue, Bryan, Texas,
for a total cost of $150 00.
A Public Weigher's Bond, executed by N M Clary, as principal, and United
States Fidelity and Guaranty Company as surety, in the amount of $2,500 00, bonding
N M Clary as a Public Weigher (under Article 5704 of Public Weigher Law) in and for
Justice Precinct No 4, Brazos County, Texas, at Bryan, Texas, was presented to the Court,
y and upon motion made, duly seconded, and unanimously passed, said bond was approved by

County Judge Davis baid before the Court a letter from the County Judges
and Commissioners Association of Texas, requesting that Brazos County pay the annual
dues of $100 00 to said Organization, and on motion made, duty seconded and unanimously
adopted, the Court voted to authorize payment of $100.00 to the County Judges and
Commissioners Association of Texas.
The Court agreed to hold a Special Meeting of the Commissioners Court on
Friday, March 13, 1964, for the purpose of canvassing the local option returns of Precinct
Number 1. '
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to,047 all
bills which have been properly filed and approved
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. `
SPECIAL MEETING - MARCH 13, 1964
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
held in the Commissioners' Court room in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at
10 00 A. U., on Friday, March 13, 1964, with the following present

Raymond A Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2,
Clyde J Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3,
W. A Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, and
A B Syptak, County Clerk
The purpose of the meeting was to canvass the returns of the Local Option
Election held on March 7, 1964, in Justice Precinct No 1, in Brazos County, Texas,
wherein the qualified voters of such Precinct voted on the proposition, "FOR THE LEGAL SALE
OF ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES" and "AGAINST THE LEGAL SALE OF ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES," which
election was held pursuant to the Order of this Court on the 10th day of February, 1964,
it being determined that such election was held on Saturday, March 7, 1964, and that this
the 13th day of March, 1963, is the fifth day after such election, and the Court proceeded
to canvass the results of such election The Court determined that there were 166 votes
cast in such election, and that the proposition, "POR THE LEGAL SALE OF ALL ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES" received 109 votes and the proposition, "AGAINST THE LEGAL SALE OF ALL ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES" received 59 votes, and that said election was held according to law pursuant to
the orders of this Court, and that the proposition carried as aforesaid, and it is hereby
ordered by the Commissioners,- Court of Brazos County, Texas, that the legal sale of all °
alcoholic beverages in Justice Precinct Number 1, in Brazos County, Texas, be, and the
same is hereby, declared to be lawful and legal in such Justice Precinct Number 1, until
such time es the qualified voters therein may thereafter, at a legal alectian held for that
purpose, by a majority vote decide otherwise.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned
