Mr. A. B. Syptak, County Clerk, presented to the Court the fact that Mrs L. P. Newton ong-time employee of the County Clerk's office, had returned to full-time duty with the Coun lerk's office, and requested that her salary be restored to that earned by her prior to going n part-time pay, which was the sum of $300 00 per month On motion made, seconded, and nanimously passed, the Court voted to restore Mrs Newton's salary to $300.00 per month, ffective September 1, 1963. Motion adopted to approve all reports and to pay all bills which have been properly iled and approved. WHEREUPON, the meeting adjourned. M., on onday, October 14, 1963, with the following present W. C. Davis, County Judge, presiding, Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct No 1, George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct No 2, W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct No 4, and A. B. Syptak, County Clerk The Court received, approved, and ordered filed as submitted the following reports B. V. Elkins, Welfare Officer, for the month of September, 1963; B. V. Elkins, Veterans' Service Officer, for the month of September, 1963, Miss Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent, for month of September, 1963, William T. Sistrunk, County Agent, for month of September, 1963, Mrs Fannie J. E Gray, Constable of Precinct No 4 34 05 The County Judge presented to the Commissioners a letter from the Ray Criswell Distributing Company concerning janitorial services needed by the Courthouse, which letter is as follows "Thank you for letting us submit a bid for the janitorial service at the Brazos County Courthouse "We will maintain the Courthouse to your satisfaction This will include stripping old wax off the floors and rewaxinngg floors, cleaning the walls and dusting the ceiling. We shall also set up a house cleaning program for daily maintenance of the Courthouse. We will wash the windows periodically as they need it. "We will furnish all supplies and labor to do this service to the beat of our ability. We will keep the restrooms supplied with tissue and towels, but these supplies will be charged to you separately. "The charge for this service performed to the beat of our ability for the first year shall be $1500.00 per month After the first year, the service will drop to $1200 00 per month "If there are any questions you might have, please call ado at TA 2-4431 " After much discussion, on motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the County Judge was authorized and directed to meet with Sheriff J. W, Hamilton and Mr. Fred Sealq and discuss with them the different services needed by the Courthouse and determine which would bg the most advantageous to the County and report back to the Commissioners at the next regular meeting _ + On motion made by George Dunn, seconded by Raymond Nolan, the Court voted unanimously to appoint Mr R. On motion made and seconded, the Court voted unanimously to authorize the four Commissioners to jointly build a holding pen frr cattle, to be located behind the County sheds, for use by the Sheriff's Department in impounding cattle found roaming the highwayaJ and streets, which pen to be paid for out of the Permanent Improvement fund of this County. s~ 1 , 418 k October 14, 1963 ?j The County Judge next presented to the Court a recommendation that the Court, pursuant yx' to State law, affix the sum of one dollar cost to each criminal and civil case filed in the larCounty and District Courts of this County, to be used in the purchase and maintenance of a III, ,y County Law Library In support of this proposition, Honorable John M. Lawrence III, an attorney of the Brazos County Bar, also appeared before the Court and urged the creation of +^l, said County Law Library. On motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed, the Court voted t ~vYr I!Gr take this recommendation under advisement, and authorized the County Judge to receive bids on ^y'' shelving to be used in such County Law Library in the event the same was created at a later T~ date A Motion adopted to approve all reports and to pay all bills which have been properly, filed and approved.
