M., on Monday, October 8, 1962, with the following present: W. C. Davis, County Judge, Presiding; r Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1, ' George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3, W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, and A. B, Syptak, County Clerk. The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following reports: B. V. Elkins, Veterans Service Officer, for the month of September, 1962 Brazos County Welfare Board, by B. V. Svatak County CIeX Rate of Issue by Clerk, 9-20-62.^ (SEAL) And it appearing to the Court that the above named persona are all freeholders of Brazos County and of the subdivision of said County therein described and designated as Justice Precinct Number 6, which petition was filed herein on the let day of October, 1962, praying that this Court order an election to be held in such subdivision for the purpose of enabling the freeholders thereof to determine whether or not the sale of alcoholic beverages of the type specified in the proposed issue, to-wit. Beer for (Off-premise) Consumption Only, shall be prohibited or legalized within said area, and it appearing to the Court that such petition is in due form, that no election for such purpose has ever been carried in such subdivision, that no election to determine said question has been held therein within 12 months prior to the filing of such petition, that the area stands designated as one within which suoh an election may be held, and that such petition should be granted, IT 13 AG60RDINGLY OhDERBD that on Tuesday, November 6, 1962, such date being not less than 30 days from the date hereof, an election shall be neld through Justice Precinct No. 6, of Brazos Gounty, Texas, at the Community (.enter !.CA, Texas, to. determine wherher_or,not the sale of beer fox Qwt-premises goDsumptiop 1 } I [ f 1 ,373 • d • a ~ I*, only shall be prohibited or legalized within said area. Such election shall be held and conducted and the returns thereof made in accordance with the laws regulating general elections, in so far as the same are applicable and the laws applicable to sale of alcoholic beverages of such character, and the County Judge shall issue the order therefor and cause public notice thereof to be given as provided by law. On motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted, the Community Center in Edge, Texas, was designated as the polling place for such alcoholic beverage election to be held in Justice Precinct No. 6, and the following judges were appointed to hold such election: Milton Holland, Presiding Judge, Milton Closs, Associate Judge, Ed Skubal Associate Judge, Lee Lys, Associate Judge. On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to approve- the bond of the Bryan Compress & Warehouse Company, Inc., dated September, 1962, and ordered Clerk to record same. On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved. Whereupon the Court add-)urned. SPr.(.IAL mrxTINO - 0(.TOBhR 15. 1962 - A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was - held in the Commissioners' Courtroom at the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10;00 o'clock A. M., on Monday, October 15, 1962, with the following present: W. C. Davis, County Judge, Presiding, Ravmond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1, George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2; W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, and A. B. byptak, County clerk. The special purpose of the meeting was to give the different insurance agencies an opportunity to present their plans for a group hospitAlization insurance plan for the Brazos County officials and employees. The different plans were submitted to the Commissioners' Court and on motion made, duly seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to take the proposals under consideration to give the County Judge and Commissioners time to study the different plans and decide on which would be best for the County to accept. v _ There being no further business, the Court adjourned.
