A regular meeting of the Commissioners court of Brazos County, Texas, was held
in the Commidsioners' DourtroomAn the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10:00
o'clock A. M., on Monday, May 14, 1962, with the following present:
W. C. Davis, County Judge, Presiding,
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct l;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
M. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; and
A. B. Syptak, County clerk.
The Court received, approved and ordered filed as submitted the following
reports:

On motion made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Court approved the
Public Weigher's Bond of Ernest Jefferson, Sr., as princ~yal,•and the Trinity Universal
Insurance company, as surety, in the amount of 02,500.00, payable to the State of Texas,
dated February 23, 1962.
The Court received, examined, approved and ordered tiled and recorded the bond
for 02,500.00 of Clyde J. Porterfield, Jr., as a Public Weigher in and for Justice Precinct
4, of Brazos county, Texas, dated May 3, 1962, and executed by United States Fidelity and
Guaranty comvany, all as authorized by Article 5704, of the Revised civil Statutes of
Texas.

We are attaching a copy of Minute Order Number 51237 which
was passed by the State Highway 6ommiesion on May 2, 1962.
You will note that this Minute Order has been passed ,
conditioned upon the County's accepting and fulfilling
certain requirements. It will be appreciated if the 6ourt,
at its earliest convenience, will take the necessary action
required by this Minute Order and return to this office
for further handling two copies of the attached fom complete
with motion and signatures.

In BRAZOS UOUNTY a FARM TO 11ARKaT ROAD is hereby designated
extending from U. 3. ighway 190 near Wickson Greek, Northwest
to F. M. Road 974, a distance of approximately 5.3 miles, ,
subject to the condition that Brazos county will furnish all
required right of way clear of obstructions and free of cost
to the State.
At such time as the county shall accept the provision of this
Order and agree to the furnishing of the required right of way,
the State Highway engineer is directed to proceed with the
engineering development and construction of the project in the
most feasible and economical manner, at an estimated Cost of
$88,000 and to assume the road for State maintenance upon
completion of the construction herein authorized.
This Order is subject to acceptance by the County and if not
accepted within 90 days of the date hereof, the action herein
contained shall be automatically cancelled.

On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted,,the,Court voted to accept
the provisions of Minute Order Number 512379 and comply therewith.

Then came on the matter of receiving ..nd canvassing the returns from the
local option election held in Justice Precinct No. 6, in Brazos County, Texas, on May S,
19629 to determine whether or not the sale of alcoholic beverages in justice rrecinct
6, were prohibited or legalized, and it appearing to the Lommissionera' Court, upon so
canvassing the returns of such election, that 66 votes were cast for the legal sale of
beer and 76 votes were cast against the legal sale of beer, and that such election carried
for the proposition `AGAINST THE LsGAL SALs OF Beat^.
IT 1S ACCORDINGLY ORDERfsD that such election was properly held, and the sale
of beer is absolutely prohibited in Justice °recinct Number Six in Brazos Lounty, Texas.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Lourt voted to pay all
bills which have been properly filed and approved.
Whereupon the Lourt adjourned.
The foregoing minutes beginning on Page 360, and concluded above, were
ined and approved in open Court on this
