A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
held in the Commissioners' Courtroom at the Gourthouee in Bryan, Texas, beginning at
10:00 o'clock A. M., on Monday, July 10, 1961, with the following present.
W. G. Davis, County Judge, Presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct l;
George Dunn, l.ommissioner of Precinct 2,
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
M. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4; and
A. B. Syptak, County,Clerk.
The Court received, approved cnd ordered filed as submitted the following

The Court received, considered and approved the following reports from

On Motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to purchase
a new wide carriage typewriter for the Taxe+Assessor Collector's office, and having found

and determined that the proposal of the McDonald Typewriter (.ompany on the wide carriage ,
typewriter was the best proposition available for such typewriter, on motion duly
z seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to accept the proposal of the said
,
r McDonald Typewriter Company for $175.00.
Mr. John H. Godfrey, Brazos County Probation Officer, appeared before the
Court and requested that It approve certain bills for services rendered on three dependent

adopted, the Court authorized payment to Dr. Cathcart, in the amount of 037.00, for dental
work performed on three Dependent and Neglected children, as requested.
The Court received, examined, approved and ordered filed and recorded the bond
for *2,500.00 of James R. Grubbs as a Public Weigher in and for Justice Precinct 4, of
Brazos County, Texas, dated June 5, 1961, and executed by St. Paul Mercury Insurance
Company,'all as authorized by Article 5704 of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to accept
a painting of the old Brazos County Courthouse, prepared by Jess B. McGee, and ordered saw
to be placed in the lobby of the courthouse.
r On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted,to pay all -
bills which have been properly filed and approved.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

SPACIAL MATING - JULY 27. 1961
A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 9.00 A. X.;
on Thursday, July 27, 19619 with the following present.
W. C. Davis, County Judge, Presiding; I•~
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1; +
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2,
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3,
W, A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, and
A. B. Syptak, County Clerk.
The County Judge submitted the iroposed budget for the fiscal (calendar) year
of 1962 carrying total proposed expenditures and reserves of 0564,820.00, which is $4,680.00
lose than was budgeted for the year 1961, and with a recommended tax rate of 95¢ per
0100.00 valuation. Whe^eupon Commissioner Nolan moved that the budget be accepted and
public hearing set thereon, and Commissioner Porterfield seconded this motion, which was
unanimously adopted.
Motion was made, duly seconded, and unanimously adopted, by which it was
ordered that the proposed budget for 1962 be filed with the County Clerk and set down
for public hearing in the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse at Bryan, Texas, at
10:00 o'clock A. M., on Thursday, August 17, 1961, and that public advertisement of this
hearing be made by publishing the following notice in the Bryan Daily t,agle of Bryan, Texas,
ones each week for three weeks prior to the public hearing

Public notice is hereby given that pursuant to action of the
Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, taken on July 27, 1961
open public hearing will be held in the Commissioners Courtroom in Us r,
Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, at 10 00 a. m. on Thursday, August 17, 1961,
for consideration of the 1962 Budget for Brazos County submitted to
the Court on July 27, 1961, and now remaining on file In the office of
4 the County Clerk of said County, all in accordance with law.
Taxpayers and others interested are invited and urged to
t acquaint themselves with the said budget during the time it remains ti
on file with the Clerk before the gearing.
At the conclusion of the hearing, final action will be taken
by the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, for the adoption
of the Budget for 1962, as finally agreed upon.
