Gentlemen.
The Board of Directors of the Brazos Area Planning Corporation
at a regular meeting on January 19, 1961, approved for pa ent
= Caudill, Rowlett and Scott's invoice in the amount of 17000
for services covered in paragraphs 1 E and 2 A and B of their
contract (fifth payment). ,k
Payments are divided among the three sponsoring agencies by
the following percentages
City of Bryan 50%
City of College Station 27.273%
Brazos County 22,727%
Your part of the fifth payment is 11,590.89. We request that
check in the amount shown be drawn to the Brazos Area Planning
Corporation and that you forward the check to the Secretary-
Tfeasurer, Brazos area Planning Corporation, City Hall, Bryan,
Texas.

On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to
pay 01,590.89, to the Brazos Area P1Anning Corporation, as requested in above letter,
and in accordance with contract.
In accordance with advertisements duly published as result of action of the
Court on January 9, 1961, the Court received the following bid and proposal of the First
National Bank of Bryan, Texas, to act as Brazos County's depository bank for the two-year
period beginning with the month of February, 1961, and ending on the last day of February,
1963. The following proposition having been found to be the beat and only proposal
received by the Court, on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to ,
accept it and name the First National Bank of Bryan, at Bryan, Texas, as the official
County Depository Bank for the coming biennium. In accordance with this action, the
following agreements were approved and ordered recorded, and the appropriate instruments
forwarded to the Texas Education Agency and to the State Comptroller, both at Austin, Texas.

in accordance with the law providing check accompany our bid
for county depository and that check be not less than 1/2 of 1%
of the income of the county during the past year.
The bank respectfully submits a bid to act as county depository
for the coming bi-ennium two years from February 13, 1961, to
February 13 1963 for ALL COUNTY k NDS, ALL COUNTY SCHOOL FUNDS,
ALL TRUST FMS 0k ALL COUNTY ObFlCIALS, agreeing to pay on time
deposits 1% as heretofore, credited to the general fund monthly
in accordance with present and future regulations of the Federai
Government, agreeing to secure all deposits with securities

At the request of Raymond B. Buchanan, Tax Assessor-Collector of Brazos
County, Texas, the Court voted to allow Mr. Buchanan a salary of $30.00 per ztohth for
Issuing and handling Title Certificates, in accordance with an Opinion from the Attorney
General of Texas. This $30.00 a month is a supplementary salary paid to the Tax Assessor-
Collector.

On motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay
=97.96, to Dr. R. Henry Harrison, Jr. to cover expenses incurred in his recent trip to
Austin, Texas, to the Texas Medical Association Meeting.
The Court received, examined, approved and ordered filed and recorded the
bond for $2,500.00 of J. D. Conlee as a Warehouseman in and for Justice Precinct No. 4, `
of Brazos County, Texas, dated January 28, 1961, and executed by United States Fidelity
and Guaranty Company.
Mr. Bernard Vogelgesang appeared before the Gourt and presented the following
bids for a new filing cabinet to be used in the office of the Probation Officer:

After discussion and upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the
Court voted to purchase the filing cabinet from Otis McDonald's Business Machines Company,
for a sum of $52.50, to be used in the Probation Office.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Gourt appointed the
following men to serve on the Veterans Land Board for Brazos Lounty, Texas:
H. P. Danaby,
William T. Sistrunk, and
John H. Stockton, Sr.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the bourt voted to purchase
a radio for the sum of $100.00, to be used in the office of the Civil Defense Headquarters
in the Courthouse of Brazos County, Texas.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted that the
four County Commissioners, t.ounty Judge and the Sheriff can authorize medical and hospital

care for Brazos County.
On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to
approve the following letter presented by the"You-Tomorrow" Group:

organization, "You - Tomorrow", state, and I quote,
"Upon the dissolution of this Corporation all of the assets,
including land and monies, and all equipment will be given to the
Commissioners court of the County of Brazos for disposition by the
Court with the express understanding that no benefit can ever accrue
to the Board members, donors originators, or any other interested L
parties of this Corporation.A
At our regular Board meeting on Sunday, January 15, 1961s it
was recommended that we request, by letter, that in the event of
dissolution the proceeds be placed at the disposal of the County
Juvenile Court Officer to be used as he sees fit for the youth.
