George Dunn, Commissioner, Precinct 2 W A~Stssny, ` Commissioner, cinct 4 a a, REGULAR MEETING - SEPTEMBER 12, 1960 A regular meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10 o'clock A. M., on Monday, September 12, 1960, with the following present - W. C. Davis, County Judgq, Presiding, Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct 1; George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct 3, W. A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct 4, and A. B. Syptak, County Clerk. ~ JM The Court received, approved and ordered"filed as submitted the following a reports: _ Brazos County Welfare Board, by B. V Elkins, Chairman, for the month of August, 1960 B. V '$lkins, County Veterans' Service Officer, for the month of August, 1960 Hies Emily Ritter, Brazos County Rome Demonstration Agent, for the month of August, 1960 E. Lloyd Joyce, Assistant County Agricultural Agent, for the month of August, 1960 William T. Sistrunk, County Agricultural Agent, for the month of August, 1960 E 0. Pace, Negro County Agricultural Agent, for the month of August, 1960 Mrs. Fannie J. Taylor, Negro County Home Demonstration Agent, for the month of August, 1960 Mrs. Fannie J Taylor, Negro County Home Demonstration Agent, appeared before the Court and requested leave of absence to attend the National Meeting for Vegro County Home Demonstration Agents to be held in Austin, Texas, and on motion duly seconded and unanimously passed, the Court granted Mrs Taylor her leave of absence as requested. The Court received, considered and approved the following reports from County- and Precinct officers showing official fees of office collected and remitted to the , County Treasurer according to duplicate copies of Treasurer's official receipts attached thereto W. L Graham, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Place 1 Fees collected and remitted to Brazos County 589 25 Fees to be paid by County for 69 cases @ $4 00 each 276 00 • h , e l~ u F 1 101 September 12, 1960 305 J Johnny Johnson, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Place 2 f Fees collected and remitted to Brazos County. .$359.10 + Fees to be paid by County for 52 cases ® $4 00 each 208.00 Virgil Estill, Constable, Precinct 4. . . . . 75.60 On motion made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to a designate the County Commissioners' Offices to be the bmergency headquarters for the Brazos County Civil Defense Unit. t Mr. Jake Cangelose appeared before the Court and requested that the County pay his, expenses to attend the Civil Defense Meeting to be held in Austin, Texas, on October y 25 and 26, 1960 On Motion made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay Mr. Cangelose's expenses to this Meeting, as requested. " Sheriff J. W. Hamilton appeared before the Court and requested that the County charge the Cities of Bryan and College Station, $2.00 per day per prisoner for the care and feeding of such prisoners on motion made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to hereafter charge to the said cities $2.00 per day for each prisoner confined in the Brazos County Jail, effective October 1, 1960. 0 On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved Whereupon the Court adjourned * * # * * * * * # * # * * # # ` The foregoing minutes, beginhing on Page 304, and concludtid on'Page 305, were examined and approved in open Court on this the 10th day bf October, A.
