REGULAR MEETING - DECEMBER 14, 1959 ~
A regular meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held
in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10 0101

On motion, duly seconded and unanimously passed, Dr. R. Henry Harrison was
re-appointed County Health Officer for Brazos County for the year 1960, and the County
Judge was directed to so notify the State Department of Health.

Highway Commission on November 24, 1959.
You will note that this Minute is passed conditioned upon the County's
accepting and fulfilling certain requirements. It will be appreciated
if the Court, at its earliest convenience, will take the necessary
action required by this Minute and return to this office for further
handling two copies of the attached form complete with motion and sig-
natures.

MINUTE ORDER

In BRA20S COUNTY a FARM TO MARKET ROAD Is hereby designated extend-
ing from OSR an F. Road Southwest to road intersection, a
distance of approximately 1.8 miles, subject to the availability
of funds in the Farm-to-Market Road fund as established by Senate
Bill 287, 51st Legislature, and subject to the condition that Brazos
County will furnish all required right of way clear of obstructions
and free of cost to the State.
At such time as the County shall accept the provisions of this Order
and agree to the furnishing of the required right of way, the State
Highway Engineer is directed to proceed with the engineering de-
velopment and construction of the project in the most feasible and
economical manner, at an estimated cost of $130,500.00, and to
assume the road for State maintenance upon completion of the con-
struction herein authorized.
This Order is subject to acceptance by the County and if not
accepted within 90 days of the date hereof, the action herein
contained shall be automatically cancelled.

On motion duly seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to accept the
provisions of Minute Order No. 46925, and comply therewith.

I am making a request to the court for a 13" Carriage Standard Typewriter. .
because on our present typewriter so many repairs have been made and the repairman
stated that most of the parts of the typewriter are just worn out and continuous
repairs would have to be made in the future.
Our present typewriter is an Underwood - Model M-5164673-12,
manufactured in 1925.
Any consideration given to this matter will be greatly appreciate. Thank

determined that the proposal of the Bryan Business Machine Company on their 13 inch

carriage typewriter was the beet proposition available for such typewriter, on motion,

duly seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to accept the proposal of the
said Bryan Business Machine Company and purchase the 13 inch carriage Olympia typewriter

for $164.95.
On motion made, duly seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to
close the Courthouse and the various County offices on December 24, 25 and 26 for the
Christmas holidays. - '

On motion made, seconded and unanimously passed, the Court voted to approve the
plat of the George McCulloch Subdivision in Brazos County, with the understanding that
the County would be under no obligation to build, construct or maintain any of the
streets or roads in said subdivision.
After much discussion by the Court, on motion duly seconded and nunanimously pass c
the Court voted to settle the condemnation suit pending against Hick Philapello and wife
for the sum of $500.00 to be paid to Mr. Philapello upon he and his wife executing a des
conveying the right of way property to the State of Texas.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills
which have been properly filed and approved.
Whereupon, the Court adjourned.
