A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held
in the commissioners' courtroom in the courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 10 o'cl k
A.M. on Monday, October 124 1959, with the following present:
W.C. Davis, County Judge, presiding;
Dymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 3;
W.A. Stasny, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4; and
A.B. Syptak, County Clerk.

Miss Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent, appeared before the Court and
requested leave of absence to attend the National Meeting of Home Demonstration Agents
to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, and on motion duly seconded and unanimously
passed, Mies Ritter was granted such leave.
After much discussion by the Court of the advisability of raising the pay of the
Commissioner
Assistant County Agent, Lloyd Joyce, on motion by/George Dunn, seconded by Commissioner
Clyde J. Porterfield, the Court voted to raise Mr. Joyce's pay from 81,300.00 to
$2,000.00 annually, effective January 1, 1960. Commissioner Stasny voting °NO"^on said,)
motion and Commissioner Nolan not voting. • , _ , ,
