2533, along the route of the Turkey Creek Road, a motion was made and duly seconded to
authorise condeomation proceedings Egainet Lee Smith and wife Lydia Smith fbr the tract
of land required by the Highway Engineere' survey. This motion was adopted without
opposition, but Commissioner Burlin voted "present".
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all
bills which have been properly filed and approved.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.
Special Meeting - December 15. 1258.

A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
hold in the office of the County Judge in the Courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 1930
P. M., on Monday, December 15, 19580 with the following members presents
A. S. Mare, County Judge, presiding,

Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct lj and
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct 2.
At the request of Commissioner Dunn and on motion duly seconded and unanimously

adopted, the Court voted to purchase from Corbusier Chevrolet Company at Bryan, Texas,
the following described new motor vehicles
One new 1959 Chevrolet Long Wheel Base, One-half Ton Pickup
,
'Truck, Serial No. 313595108945, with heater and otherwise
fully equipped, complete and delivered at Bryan, Texas, for. .:1,724.00.
On further motion, it was ordered that purchase price of this vehicle be paid

from funds available to Precinct No. 2, to which the vehicle was allocated.
In connection with the acquisition of right-of-way for extension of Farm-to-
Market HipbWay 60 from College Station to an intersection with Farm-to-Market Highway
1589 in the Harvey community, a motion was made and duly seconded to authorize condemnation
proceedings against Beatrice Spradling and husband H. P. Spradling, fbr the undivided

interest in the tracts of land required by the Highway Engineers' survey.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

held in the Commissioners courtroom beginning at 4:00 o'clock p. m., on Wednesday,
December 31, 1958, with the following presents

stating the total final liability of that surety on behalf of Mrs. Marjorie E. Burkhalter,
former Tax Assessor-Collector
which is a total of $627.23
being $152.83 owing to the

State and $474.40 owing to Brazos County.
These figures are further verified by the attached copy of letter of December

30, from Robert S. Calvert, State ComptrQ~ller of Public Accounts, wlTich is also attached.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court accepted the foregoing

In reply to your letter of Dec. 22nd, we are pleased to advise
that when your Tax Assessor-Collector recompiles his Delinquent

Tax Record dour to date Mrs Marjorie E Burkhalter's ad valorem
k
tax account, with the State, will be credited with $96.95 comma
' mission we have held in abeyance because the record was not dour
to date; and the credit together with other entries that have
`i
been made on her account will leave a balance due the state of

$122.20. This amount plus the $30.63 due the State on the Motor
Vehicle Sales & Use Tax account will equal a total of $152.83
as set out in the second paragraph of your letter.

You will have to contact the Texas Liquor Control Board to
verify the balance of 5261.25 your letter states Mrs. Burkhalter
owed that Department when she went out of office.
To balance the Ad valorem and Motor Vehicle Sales & Use Tax
accounts a remittance of $122.20 should be sent to the State
Treasurer with the request that it be deposited to the credit
of the ad valorem tax account of Mrs. Marjorie E. Burkhalter,
(Ex) Tax Assessor-Collector, Brazos County, and a remittance
of $30.69 should be mailed to this Department to be deposited
to the credit of the Sales & Use Tax account.
