Rerular Meetinv - December S. 1958.
A regular meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Tome, was held
in the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 1Ot00 o'clock a. m.,
on Monday, December 8, 1958, with the following presents
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct No. l;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct No- 3;
Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct No. 4, and
A. Be Syptak, County Clerk.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court appointed Mrs. bats Mills
as Constable of Justice Precinct No. 2, of Brazos County, Texas, to fill the vacancy created
by the death of her husband, W. D- Mills, who died on November" 18, 1958, and fixed her bond
at $500.00.
Whereupon Mrs. Mills appeared before the Court and presented her bond which was
formally approved and ordered recorded and then the County Judge administered to her the
official oath of office.

2513, along the route of the Turley Creek Road, a motion was made and duly seconded to
authorise condemnation proceedings Against Lee Smith and wife Lydia Smith for the tract
of land required by the Highway Engineers' survey. This motion was adopted without
opposition, but Commissioner Burlin voted °presents.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all

bills which have been properly filed and approved.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
bold in the office of the County Judge in the Courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 1130
p. m., on Monday, December 15, 1958, with the following members presents

adopted, the Court voted to purchase from Corbusier Chen lest Company at Bryan, Texas,
the following described new motor vehicles
One new 1959 Chevrolet Long Wheel Base, One-half Ton Pick up
Truck, Serial No. 313595108945, with heater and otherwise
fully equipped, complete and delivered at Bryan, Texas, for. . . 41,724.00.
On further motion, it was ordered that
purchase price of this vehicle be paid
from funds available to Precinct No. 2, to which the vehicle was allocated.
In connection with the acquisition of right-of-wady for extension of Farm-to-
Market Highway 60 from College Station to an intersection with Farm-to-Market Highway
158, in the Harvey community, a motion was made and duly seconded to authorise condemnation
proceedings against Beatrice Spradling and husband H. P. Spradling, for the undivided

interest in the tracts of land required by the Highway Engineers' survey.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
held in the Cosenissionere courtroom beginning at 4s00 o'clock p. m., on Wednesday,
December 31, 1958, .d th the following presents
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct No. 1; and

Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct No. 3; and
Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct No. 4; and

County Judge laid before the Court copy of a letter of December 26, to A. 9.

Mo9wain, local Agent of the Columbia Cadueity Company, B. H. Astin Building, Bryan, Terms,
stating the total final liability of that surety on behalf of Mrs. Marjorie S. Burkhalter,
former Tax Assessor-Collector, which is a total of $627.23, being $152.83 awing to the

State and $474.40 owing to Brazos County.

30, from Robert S. Calvert, Stste Comptroller of Public Accounts, which is also attached.
