Special Meeting - November 26. 1958.
A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held
in the Commissioners courtroom beginning at 9s30 o'clock a. m., an Wednesday, November 26,
1958, with the following presents
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolen. Commissioner of Precinct No. 1; and
George Dam, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2.
The purpose of this special meeting was to receive and confer with a group of
distinguished foreign visitors, being six Governors of Provinces of the Republic of Turkey,
and their interpretor, whose names and addresses are as followas
Karim Amt, Governor of Balikesir,
Kadri Erogan, Governor of Urfa,
yahrettin Gomulu, Governor of Kutahya,
Ibrahim Tevfik Kutlar, Governor of Mariea,
Cavit Tevfik Okyavus, Governor of Icel,
Ibrahim Osturk, Governor of Maras,
Celal Ouvenc, Secretary to the Minister of Interior.
These visitors expressed keen interest in details of the conduct of local self-
government as exemplified by the County unite and were highly appreciative of the information
supplied and the courtesies shown them.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.
