M. Tacker of Bryan, appeared before the Court and presented facts gpd figures relating to a plan of group insurance which his company would male available to Brazos County employees if 75 per cent or more of them agreed to the plan and were willing for the monthly premiums to be withheld from their compensation. After discussion of the matter, a motion was made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, by which the Court agreed to adopt such a plan if 75 per cent or more of the County employees accepted the plan which Mr. Tacker and hie associates would present directly to the individual County employees. On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court appointed E. Lloyd Joyce, Assistant County Agricultural Agent of Brasov County, to be a member of the Brazos County Veterans Land Committee, to fill the vacancy caused by the recent death of Wallace M. Kimbrough. This County Committee is appointed and maintained under authority of Article 5421-m, of the Revised Civil Statutes, as amended On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills which have been properly filed and approved. A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the Co=iesionere Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 9t00 o'clock a. a., on Wednesday, July 30, 1958, with the following presents A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding, Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number 1; George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2, Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 3l Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4; and A. B. Syptak, County Clerk. The County Judge submitted the proposed budget for the fiscal (calendar) year of 1959 carrying total proposed ecpenditures and reserves of $580,450.00 with a recommended tax rate of $1.00 per $100.00 valuation. Whereupon Commissioner Harlin moved that the budget be accepted and public hearing set thereon, and Commissioner ' Nolan seconded this motion, which was unanimously adopted. Votion was made, duly seconded, and unanimously adopted, by which it was ordered that the proposed budget for 1959 be filed with the County Clerk and set down for public hearing in the Commissioners Courtroom in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, at 10:00 a, m., on Thursday, August 28, 1958, and that public advertisement of this hearing be made by publishing the following notice in the Bryan Daily Eagle of Bryan, Texas, once each week for three weeks prior to the public hearing; i. .4 ~ t
