The group were entertained at a luncheon in the hams Commissioner Porterfield, and later made a visit to the home of Commissioner Dunn. The Court received and noted the following communication of November 12, from C. Be Thames, District Engineer, District 17, Texas Highway Department, and the attached copy of Minute Order No. 42976, passed by the Highway Commission on October 31, 1957. It was noted by the members of the Court that this action on the part of the Highway Commission relates to the Brazos County master road plan, as originally approved by the Commissioners Court on September 19, 19391 accepted by the HighmW Commission on August 27, 1940, and subsequently re-approved by the Commissioners Court on February 12, 1941, u shown in Volume "I", on Pages 577-579, of the official minutes of this Court. Nolen, and upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to purchase tram the Corbusier Chevrolet CampW of Bryan, Texas. one new 1958, two and one-halt ton Chevrolet truck chassis 1 and cab, Motor No. 8B58ft101003, complete and delivered at Bryan, for $3,325.00, I Mment to be made from funds available to Precinct No. 1, to which the vehicle is allocated. Based upon certification from County Auditor F. J. Vitopil and audits by the State Comptroller of Public Accounts at Austin, on motion duly seconded and unanimously i adopted, the Court voted to authorise the County Judge to execute releases of the surety bonds executed by Mrs. ?sarjorie S. Burkhalter and Monroe George Bond, each as Tax Assessor Collector of Brazos County, Texas, for the periods respectively from January 1 to July 29, 1957, for lire. Burkhalter, and from July 29 to October 31, 1957, for Mr. Bond,as follower Columbia Casualty Company of New York, for Mrs. Marjorie E. Burkhalterr Bond for $15,000.00, dated November 21, 1956, and accepted and approved by the Court on January 1. 1957, covering County taxes, Bond for $7,000.00, dated December 3. 1956, and accepted and approved by the Court on January 1, 1957, covering State taxes. Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland, Baltimore, Maryland, for Monroe George Bonds Bond for $22,000.00, dated July 29, 1957, and accepted and approved by the Court on July 30, 1957, covering County taxes, Bond for $7,000.00, dated July 29, 1957, accepted and approved by the Court on July 30, 1957, covering State taxes. On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all brills which have been properly filed and approved. Whereupon the Court adjourned. A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Twins, was bs14 in the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse at Br7auy beginning at 1000 osolock a. a., on Friday, December 13, 1957, with the following presents A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding, Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number 1, George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2, Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Humber 31 ^ Newton Burin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 41 and A. B. Syptak, County Clerk. The members of the Court held a conference with Judge W. T. MoDonald of the District Court of Brazos County, Texas, and Dr. Carlton Lee, Chairman of the Bramws County Youth Development Committee, and Mr. Victor M. Ehlers. Brazos County Probation Officer and Youth Counsellor.
