A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Tam, was held

in the office of the County Judge, in the courthouse at Bryan, beginning at 10300 o'clock
a. m , on Thursday, April 4, 1957, with the tbllowing presents

The primary purpose of this meeting was to canvass and record the returns from
the Special Election held throughout Brazos County, an April 2, 1957, for the purpose of
electing a United States Senator for the unexpired term Whereupon, the returns from the
said election were duly canvassed, recorded and certified on Page 59, of Volume OCe9 of
the Official Record of Election Returns of Brazos County, Teams, on file in the office of
the County Clerk
The Court ratified and approved payment on Mardi 20, 1957, of $1,143.66, covered
ti
by Payment Certificate No 6, being the final payment to haswell's of Bryan, Texas, as
balance owing on the contract price for files and accessories for the Brazos County
courthouse-Jail plant, dated March 12, 1956, and approved on Mardi 19, 1957, by Caudill,
Rowlett, Scott and Associates, architects and engineers, and reading as fbllwes

The Court ratified and approved as of March 200 1957, the sale by Brazos
County of its one-half or pro-rata part of the old abandoned Jones bridge over the Brazos
River near the present crossing of State Farm-to-Karket highway No 60, to E 11 Worts
of 3302 Turner Drives Houston 16, Texas, in accordance with following certificate of

Receipt is hereb aclmowledged of your check for $500 00
payable to Brazos County, and -Sven as full payment of its pro rata
share of the purchase price of the old condemned bridge near the
present route of State Farm-to-Market Highway No 60, and locally
known as the old Jones bridge It is understood that the old bridge
is being sold by Burleson and Brazos Counties for a total of $1,000.00,
and that you, as purchaser thereof, will have absolute title to all
of the remaining structure now on site
It is further understood that there is absolutely no
liability on the part of Brazos County in connection with this
matter, and that you are to make any required arrangements with
the land owners fbr access to the bridge site We attach hereto
our official Brazos County Treasurer's receipt No. 11546, for $500.00,
for your payment to Brazos County.

The Court received, approved and ordered paid statement for a total of $1,963 25,
to the Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc , of Waco, Texas, as full payment for materials
used in re-locating the transmission line across Texas State Fare-to-Market Highway go. 158,
near the Navasota River in the eastern part of Brazos County, in accordance with authorisation
of the Court on February 11, 1957.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.
