the officers and members of the council for the placing of the now refrigerator in the

Mr. R A Manning of College Station, Texas, appeared before the Court and
presented a request that the County give consideration to the distribution of surplus
goverment ccemodities that might be available to needy persons within the County. He

In accordance with advertisements duly published as result of action of the Court
on January 14, 1957, the Court received the following bid and proposal fbr The First National

with the month of February, 1957, and ending on the last day of February, 1959. The following

On request of Assistant County Agent E. Lloyd Joyce and upon the recommendation of

his District Agent S. Mhitsett, the Court voted to grant Ur Joyce leave for one hour each an
four days per week to enable him to pursue studies leading to a masters degree in the A. & N. '
College of Texas

Tax Assessor-Colleotor Marjorie E. Burkhalter appeared before the Court and
stated that bar office would require additional typewriters for the special rush of
automobile registrations and asked the Court for authoritiy to buy now additional machines.
After discussion, members of the Court suggested to lire Burkhalter that she again matt
suitable typewriters for the period of approximately aixty days which would include the
special rush season.
County Judge laid before the Court petition delivered to him on January 17, 1951,
and which requests the placing of a bounty on timber valves killed within the County.
After discussion and upon motion dully seconded and unanimously adopted, the
Court voted to take the matter under advisement for further stbdy and consultation and,
in the meantime ordered the petition recorded which is an followes

On recommendation of the County Judge and upon motion duly seconded and
mealwonely adopted, the Court voted to award the contract far the necessary work
'at relocating this hi#u voltage transmission line on the basis of the alternate
bide enumerated above and at a total cost to the County of $3,343.61.
On notion duly seconded and unaiimwely adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills
sAhich have been properly riled and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

Special Meeting ~ February 21. 1957.
A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was hold
,in the office of the County Judge in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 9:30 o'clock
a. a., on Thursday, February 21, 1957, with the fbllowing presents
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Comissioner of Precinct Number 1;
George Duna, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 3; and
Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
At the request of Commissioner Burlin and upon motion duly seconded and unanimously
adopted, the Cant voted to purchase from the Burson-Wheeler Tractor Compwy of 805 West
25th Street, Bryan, Texas, one used Modal IB Allis-Chalmers Tractor, Serial No. AM2787-198
.,,,,,equipped with siz-foot Detroit Harvester Hydraulic Control Mower at 1500.00, delivered at
Bryan.. It was ordered by the Court that this machine be allocated to Precinct No. 4, and that
the purchase price therefor be paid from the terracing funds from that precinct.
