Special Meeting - January 10. 1957.
A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in
the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 10:00 o'clock as m., on
Thursday, January 10, 1957, with the following present
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding,
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number lj

George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2, and
Newton Burlln, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
Purpose of this special meeting was to receive and consider proposals for the
handling of the $100,000.00 road machinery warrants which the County has proposed to issue
as specified by orders heretofore adopted. Personal representatives appeared in open Court
and submitted the following written proposals which were duly received and considered by the
Court:

Gentlemen:
Reference is made to your request for a proposal to purchase the
subject Warrants, - per letter of December 31, 1956 from Nessrs. Dumas,
Huguenin & Boothman, copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
For thL legally issued Warrants as described therein, we will
pay you the total par value thereof ($100,000.00), plus a cash premium
of $386.90, plus accrued interest to date of payment. It is under-
stood, and made a part of this agreement, that said Warrants will be de-
livered to us for Mmnent, without expense to us, at the American National

Bank, Austin, Texas, within sixty (60
days from date hereof, or thereafter
at our option.
As evidence of our Good Faith we attached hereto Cashiers Check
in the amount of $2,000.00, which check is to be held by you uncashed and
returned to us upon fUllfillment of this agreement. Should we fail or
refuse to male payment for the Warrants under the terms hereof, then said
check may be cashed and the proceeds retained by you as full and completely
liquidated damages against us.

the rate of 3-3/4% per annum.
WE WILL PAY Par and Accrued Interest.
This offer is for immediate acceptance only, and is made subject to the

unqualified approval of their legality by the Attorney General of the
State of Texas, end by Dumas, nuguenin & Boothman, Bond Attorneys
designated by you, and whose fee you will pay. You agree to furnish us
full and complete transcript of all proceedings incident to the issuance
of said warrants. Printed warrants are to be furnished by you. Delivery
of the warrants is to be made at American National Bank, Austin, Texas.
This agreement shall be binning upon us for a periof of 45 days from its
date, and in the event you are unable to deliver such warr.n is to us

within the urescribed period in conformity with the provisions hereof,
then and in that event, we shall no longer be bound by the terms he-eof,
but shall have an irrevocable option upon such warrants for the 30 days
next succeeding the expiration of our corsdtment under the same terms and
conditions herein recited.

$2,000.00 to be held by you uncashed, dnd returned to us when we have

It having been found and declared that the proposals submitted by Dallas Rups
and Son of Kirby Building, Dallas, Texas, were the best and most advantageous to the
County, on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted they were accepted for interest
rate of 3-80/100 per cent on warrants and 3-60/100 per cent on bonds to be issued
`
following conversion of the warrants, and the Court further voted to authorize the
conversion of these warrants into bonds with the ultimate interest rate of 3-60-/100
per cent. The County Judge was authorized to advise Attorneys Dumas, Huguenin and
Boothmers of Dallas, Teams, of this action.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.
