On motion duly seconded and adopted, the Court voted that in accordance with
the provisions of Article 2350(6), of the Revised Civil Stltutes of Texas, as amended,
effective from and after January 1, 1957, each County Commissioner would be compensated
for service as County Road Cmmissioner at the rate of $1,200 00 per annum, or $100.00
per month, to be paid out of the Road and Bridge Fund in addition to his regular salary
of =4,800.00 per annum, this $100.00 per month to be paid from funds ubich are presently
budgeted to the Precincts' Operating Budget.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills
which have been properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.
Special Meetinp, - January 1. 1957.
A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 9=00
o'clock a. m., on Tuesday, January 1, 1957, with the following presents

Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 31 and
Newton Berlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
4 Doctor R. E. Day, a baptist minister of Bryan, was present and at the request

of County Judge Ware delivered an appropriate prayer on behalf of the Court and the
County and precinct officers being inducted into office.
Commissioner Raymond A. Nolan of Precinct No. 1 and Commissioner Clyde J.
Porterfield of Precinct No. 3, having been re-elected to four-year terms on November 6,
1956, presented their official bonds which were accepted and approved by the County
Judge and thereupon they subscribed their official oaths and were sworn in for the
new term.
Thereupon came the following officers %ho presented their official bonds which
were approved and ordered filed and who then subscribed to their official oaths and were
sworn in for their new terms

Thereupon Sheriff Hamilton presented his official appointments of deputies sheriff.
They were approved and official oaths administered to them by the County Judge, se follows:

A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in
the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, begiruiing at 1Ot00 o'clock a. m., an
Thursday, January 10, 1957, with the following present.
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding,
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct !:umber 1,
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2; and
Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
Purpose of this special meeting was to receive and consider proposals for the
handling of the $100,000.00 road machinery warrants which the County has proposed to issue
as specified by orders heretofore adopted Personal representatives appeared in open Court,
and submitted the following written proposals which were duly received and considered by the
Court:

Gentlemen
Reference is made to your request for a proposal to purchase the
subject Warrants, - per letter of December 31, 1956 from Messrs. Dumas,
Huguenin & Boothman, copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
For the legally issued Warrants as described therein, we will
pay you the total par value thereof ($100,000.00), plus a cash premium
of $386,90, plus accrued interest to date of payment. It is under-
stood, and made a part of this agreement, that said Warrants will be de-
.1 livered to us for payment, without expense to us, at the American National
Bank, Austin, Texas, within sixty (60) days from date hereof, or thereafter
at our option.
As evidence of our Good Faith we attached hereto Casniers Check
in the amount of $2,000.00, which check is to be held by you uncashed and
returned to us upon fullfil]ment of this agreement. Should we fail or
refuse to make payment for the Warrants under the terms hereof, then said
check may be cashed and the proceeds retained by you as full and completely
liquidated damages against us.
