A regular meeting of the Coma,ssionere Court of Brazos County, Tema, was
held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 1Os00
o'clock a. m., on Monday, October 8, 19569 1d th the following presents

A delegation of ladies representing the County Home Demonstration Council appeared
before the Court and stated the need for a refriLrerator and a stove in the kitchen section of
the quarters assigned to the County Home Demonstration Agents in the new courthouse plant. The
member: of the Court assured these ladies that proper consideration would be given this request
when finances would permit, but that at present County funds were not sufficient to permit the
purchasing of these items The delegation was composed of Mesdames Victor Harris, J. E.
Newcomb, Russell Lloyd, B L. Risinger aid M. L. Riley
Fannie J. Taylor, Negro County Home Demonstration Agent, appeared before the Court
and requested permission to take five days of annual leave from October 18 to 23, 1956. On
motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, this request was granted
County Clerk Syptak reported that Miss Etta Wilda Wilson, one of his deputies, had
suffered an injury while on duty in the office, and that due to this incapacity, she had incurred
certain medical and clinical kills, amounting to $18.15, which on motion duly seconded and
unanimously adopted were ordered paid from the General Fund, as follows:
Bryan Clinic, Bryan, Texas, . . . . . . . .$12.50
Dr. L. 0 Wilkerson, Bryan, Texas 4.00
Bryan Medical Canter Pharmacy. Bryan. Texas 1 65
Total .$18.15.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to purchase and
authorize the installation of drapes on the south side of the County Clerk's office, to cover
the entire 96 linear feet of glass wall apace, which by oversight of designers, was not included
in the original specifications for furnishings It was further voted that this total expense
of purchase and installation of these drapes should not exceed $1,140.00, and that contract ,
for the work be awarded to the lowest and best bidder who will. furnish materials of the same
quality and grade as the drapes in other portions of the plant.
At the request of Commissioner Dunn and upon motion duly seconded and unanimously
adopted, it was voted to purchase a used Model 1948 Chevrolet one-half ton pickup truck
from Adrian G McDonald, of Wheelock, Texas, for $285.00 cash with the understanding that
this vehicle will be allocated to Precinct No. 2 and paid for out of funds available thereto.
This vehicle is covered by 1936 Texas Registration No. IT 2986 and Application for Title
No. 766466N.
On MoticrL duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills
which have been properly filed and approved, and for which budgeted funds are available.
