On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to allow each
Commissioner to pay from his Terracing Account the sum of $50.00, or a total of $200.00,

to be used by the Braise County Supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration of the
United States Department of Agriculture for the purpose of employing temporary clerical
•
help in the processing of applications for drouth feed loans for farmers and ranchero
from this area.

Special Meeting - September 21. 1956.

A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held
in the office of the County Judge, in the courthouse, at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 8:30
o'clock a. m., on Friday, September 21, 1956, with the following present:

Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 31 and
Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
At the request of Commissioner Porterfield and on motion duly seconded and
unanimously adopted, it was voted to purchase from the Braining-Ferris Machinery
Company,of Houston, Texas, for allocation to and payment from fluids available to Precinct
Number 3, of which Clyde J. Porterfield is Commissioner, the following:
•
One new IHC Model TD-91 Front End Loader, complete with
} IHC Drott, 9h3 Skid Shovel, with 1-1/2 yard Bucket, with
Teeth, complete delivered at Bryan .$13,758.00
Less trade-in allowance on Allis-Chalmers HD5G, Serial
No. 1670, with International Front End Loader 3.758.00
Net balance to be paid by County .$10,000.00.
Net cash on January 15, 1957, plus 4 per cent interest.

Came an to be considered the matter of setting date for open house for the
new courthouse-fail plant. It was felt by the members of the Court that the public
generally should be given ample opportunity to inspect the plant and that out-of-county
