On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to allow each
Commissioner to pay from hie Terracing Account the sum of $50.00, or a total of $200.00,
to be used by the Brazos County Supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration of the
United States Department of Agriculture for the purpose of employing temporary clerical
help in the processing of applications for drouth feed loans for farmers and ranchers
from this area.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

Special Meeting - September 21. 1956.
A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held
in the office of the County Judge, in the courthouse, at Bryan, Texas, beginning at St3D
O'clock a. m., on Friday, September 21, 1956, with the following presents
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding,
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number li
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 21
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 31 and
Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
At the request of Commissioner Porterfield and on motion dully seconded and
unanimously adopted, it was voted to purchase from the Braining-Ferris Machinery
Company,of Houston, Texas, for allocation to and payment from funds available to Precinct
Number 3. of which Clyde J. Porterfield is Commissioner, the followings
One new IHC Model TD-91 Front End Loader, complete with
IHC Drott, 9k3 Skid Shovel, with 1-1/2 yard Bucket, with
Teeth, complete delivered at Bryan .$13,758.00
✓ Less trade-in allowance on Allis-Chalmers HD5G, Serial
No. 1670, with International Front End Loader t-i 3.758.00
i Net balance to be paid by County .$10,000.00.
Net cash on January 15, 19572 plus 4 per cent interest.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

} A special meeting of the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, was
held in the Commissioners Courtroom in the courthouse, at Bryan, beginning at 8:30

o'clock a. m . on Thursday, September 27, 1956, with the following present:
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding,
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number li
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2,
Clyde J. Porterfield, Coonissioner of Precinct Number 3; and
Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
Came on to be considered the matter of setting date for open house for the
new courthouse-jail plant. It was felt by the members of the Court that the public
generally should be given ample opportunity to inspect the plant and that out-of-county
visitors should also be given opportunity to see it. After discussion and upon Motion
duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to have open house for the new
plant on October 13, 1956, beginning at 10t00 o'clock a. m. and ending at 6 00 o'clock p. m.
