The members of the Court constituted themselves into a Board of Equalization of Brazos
County for the year 1956, subscribed the statutory oath as such and then recessed the said Board of
Equalisation until 9100 a. me an Monday, May 28,'1956.

At the request and upon the recommendation of County Clerk A. Be Syptak, and in conformity
• with prior instructions to him, and on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court
authorised the purchase by the County for installation in the office of the County Clerk in the new
courthouse, photographic recording equipment according to the following specifications and upon the
.terms and conditions stated: -
One Photostat Photographic copying apparatus y f•

The above prices are F.O.B., Rochester, New York,
but include the freight charges of getting the materials
to you.
One-half of the total when equipment is received
and the balance due one year from the date of the in-
stallation.
Delivery of the above machine can be made in
approximately 20 weeks.
The above apparatus is guaranteed for one year
from any manufacturing defects after which time the
• purchaser will purchase the parts necessary for
operation and we, in turn, will install with no charge
as long as our supplies are used.
The Court ratified and approved the employment of Mrs. Irene 0. Marucci as Secretary to
the County Judge and the Commissioners Court and County Court Reporter, effective from April 4, 1956,
at $8.00 per diem for the balance of April and at the rate of $200.00 per month from and after kqy
1, 1956.

been properly filed and approved, and for which budgeted funds are available.

O Special Meeting - May 17. 1956.
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court was held in the office of the County Judge .
s in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 9:C0 a. m. on May 17, 1956, with the following presents

Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number 1;
George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 2;

Commissioner Nolan laid before the Court the following bids on a new 1956 pickup truok,
• y intended for his precinct, as follows:

It having been found and declared by the Court that the bid submitted by Corbusier
Chevrolet Company was lowest, beet and most advantegous to the County, as notion duly esocaM
and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to purchase the one-half ton pickup truck from
Corbusier Chevrolet Company of Bryan, Texas, at the net price of #1,425.00, to be paid from
fluids available to Precinct Number 1, to which Precinct the said vehicle was allocated.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

Special Meeting - June 4. 1956.
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court was held In the office of the County
Judge in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 9:30 a. m. on Monday, Jun 4, 1956, with
the following presents
A. S. Bare, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number 1;
Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number a;
and Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4.
The Court ratified and confirmed the was negotiated by County Judge Ware of the„
One Hundred and Fifty Thousand (6150,000.00) Dollars of Brazos County Courthouse and Jail Warrants,
heretofore authorized and issued as of March 15, 1956. This sale was to the First National Bank
of Bryan, of Bryan, Texas, for full par value of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand (#150,000.00)
Dollars in cash, deposited to the credit of the County in the official account of Permanent
Improvement Fund, with the accrued interest from March 15 to sale on June 4, 19560 being waived
by the County and allowed to the bank as part of the consideration for purchase of the warrants
bearing such a low rate of interest. This action,was taken by the Court, after a motion, duly
seconded, and unanimously adopted.
The Court received, examined, and authorised the payment of Estimate Number Nineteen
Special, dated June 1, 1956, for Forty-Six Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and no/100 (#46,500.00),
submitted by A. P. Kasch & Sons, Contractors for the new Courthouse-Jail project, for work
performed to that date and bearing the approval of the architects and engineers, according to the
original copy attached heretos
On recommendation of Commissioner Porterfield and upon motion duly seconded and
unenimeusl,Yadopted. the Court voted to purchase from Browning-Ferris Machinery Company, of Houston,
Texas, the following described equipment at the price stated, for allocation-to Commissioner's
Precinct No. 3, and payment from funds available to its
One (1) used Gunnison 600 gallon asphalt heating
kettle, SIN 373, pheumatie tired trailer mounted.
