Oaf motion, duly seconded, and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to cancel all bids '
for Cedar fence posts ae heretofore received and accepted and to look further for the purchase of
all posts which may be needed for fencing of rights-of-way for both State Higbmp and County roads.
TUN Notion is taken because of the fact that current bidders are unable and umeilling to supply
the items at the bid-prices, due to misinterpretation of the specifications prescribed by the court.
The County Judge laid before the Court the Annual Audit Report of Brazos County for the
fiscal (calendar) year of 1955, as submitted by County Auditor F. J. Vitopil, under data, of Marsh
21, 1956, accompanied by the following letter of transmittal,

Herewith, I present q official audit report of
various county officials of Brazos County, Texas, for the
calendar year ended December 31, 1955.
After a careful and thorough audit of all county
officials, I find that all moneys and fees of office collected
by them, were properly accounted for, and were paid over to
the County Treasurer, as the law requires, and that the" items
were properly deposited by the County Treasurer in the official
county depository to the credit of the various county funds.

GENTLENFN, in view of the fact that the jail equip-
ment for the Brazos County Courthouse has been

' completely installed and inspected for proper
operation, we recommend that the 10 per cent re-
tainer being held on the contract cost for this
work be released to the general contractor.
This action would constitute final accoptance of the
jail equipment with the reservation that it shall
still be in proper condition and working order at
the time of final acceptance of the entire building.

The Court received, examined, and ratified the psyment of Estimate Number 18, dated
April 7, 1956, for $23,634.65, submitted by A. P. Kasch A Sons, Contractors for the new Courthouse-Jail
project, for work performed to that date and bearing the approval of the architects and engineers,
according to the original copy attached herstoi
Mr. William M. Pena, of the firm of Caudill, Rowlett, Sobtt and Associates, architects
and engineers for the courthouse-jail project, appeared before the Court, and stated that his firm
,`;'had completed the revision of plan's and specifications for the furniture and furnishings for the
new courthouse, all in compliance with the order of the Court made and entered an March 19, 1956;
" whereupon, an motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court authorized the County Judge to
advertise ageii: for bide for such furniture and furnishings in accordance with the following notice
to be published in the Bryan Daily Eagle on April 10-17-24, 1956, thus giving notice of Rare than 21
days prior to the date for the opening of said bids:
"ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIAS
Sealed Bids, addressed to the Brazos County Commissioners' Court,
Bryan, Texas, will be received at the office of the County Judge,
Moehlman Building, 25th Street and Washington Ave., Bryan, Texas,
until 10:00 a. m., Friday, May 4, 1956, and then be publicly opened
11, for FURNITURE AND FURNISHINGS, consisting of chairs, sofas, tables,
cabinets, desks, office furniture, rugs, carpets, and draperies,

Portfolios shall accompany each proposal, as required by the speci-
fications.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified
check or an acceptable bidder's bond in an amount not lose than 5%
of the total bid. Said check or bidder's bond shall be made payable
to and shall revert to the Brazos County Commissioners' Court, in
the event the successful bidder shall fail to execute the contract
within ten (10) days after notification of award of contract has
been given.
Specifications, drawings, and required proposal forms may be obtained
from Caudill, Rowlett,Scott and Associates, 425 South VAin Street, `
Bryan, Texas, upon deposit of thirty dollars ($30.00) per set of
drawings and specifications. The full amount of the deposit will

Before receiving the specifications and drawiisgs bidders will be - "
asked to eiga the fallowing forms "The undersigned understands that
the designs of the items designated "Knoll Special" are the property
of Knoll Associates, Inc., and may be used only in connection with
the production of furniture for the Bravos County Courthouse.
These plane will not be disolosed to other persons, firms, or
corporations other than those interested in bidding on the construc-
tion of these items for this project and not until assurance has
been secured from them that the designs will not be reproduced on
other projects. These plans will-be returned to the Brazos County
Commissionao or their Arehitoots upon oomplation of the Controot.■
Bidders desiring further information or interpretations of the
specifications must make such requests in writing to the Architects,
prior to 48 hours of the time of receiving bids. Answers to all
such requests will be given in writing to-all bidders, in addendum
form, and all addenda will be incorporated with the contract docu-
ments. No other explanation or interpretation will be considered official
or binding.
The Bight is reserved to reject any or all bide.

Thereupon cams on the matter of canvassing returns of a special election held in
Brazos County Consolidated School District Number 10 of Kurten, Texas, on Saturday, April 7, 1956,-
to determine whether or not a majority of the property tax-paying citizens resident within said
district were in favor of increasing the local school maintenance and bond retirement tax from :0.95
to $1.50 per $100.00 valuation of property situated therein. Whereupon, a canvass of the returns
made to the County Judge showed the following results of said elections

From the foregoing results, it was found and declared by the Court that-the proposed - O

approved by the property tau-paring citizens resident within said district by a majority of
82 votes. O
Commissioner Won reported to the Court that he was unable to negotiate right-of-rp
easements for-the extension of State P.M. Highway No. 2038 from [urten 5-2,/2 miles eastward to
the intersection of the Bowman County Road with George Dockery and Stan C. Bologinesak (Eolojak).
Whereupon, on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the.Court voted to direct the County
Attorney to file and prosecute condemnation suits against George Dockery and wife Delano Y.
Dockery, for the required right-of-way described in two tracts of 1-385/100 and 157/100 acres,
aggregating a-total of 1-542/100 acres of the Isaiah Curd Survey, Abstract Number 11, and Stan 00
Eologinesak (Eolojak) and wife, for 4-75/100 acres in the John Williams Survey, Abstract Number 238•
The Court received and considered bids aid proposals for moving houses and other
structures from the newly acquired additional right-of-war for State Highway Number 21, required
by the State Highway Department for the widening of State Highway Number 21 and converting it into
a four-lane highway from the Bryan Air Force Bass to the Missouri-Pacific overpass. Wherefore `
and on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court found that the following were the
lowest and best bids received and awarded contracts as follows
