S. Mare, County Judg% presiding] Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number 21 George Dunn, Commissioner of Precinct Number 21 Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 91 and Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4. Mrs. Lee J. Rountree and Hit Daasby appeared before the Court as representatives of the - Brasos County Tuberculosis Association and presented formal request for an increase frcm'$=.00 to $500.00 per annum of the allocation from the County to the Association for use In paying the expenses of tubercular patients and their dependents. After presentation of the request, a motion was made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, by which the Court voted to increase the General Fund budget item for the Brazos County Tuberculosis Association from 9180.00 to 9500.00 for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1956. The Court received and heard I. H. Lloyd, Ploy Saxon and Hugh Thurmond, representing the Bryan Saddle Cluk in an extended discussion of a bill for 1866.50 submitted against the Club and having originated with Precinct No. 4 of which Newton Burlin is Commissioner. These gentlemen insisted that there had been a misunderstanding as to the charge and requested that the account be cancelled on the ground that the Bryan Saddle Club was chartered as a non-profit corporation, and that its activities were and are in the public interest. Alter discussion the members of the Court accepted that view, and on motion duly seconded and adopted without dissent the Court voted to cancel the entire charge of 9866.50 against the Bryan Saddle Club as represented by,grading, leveling and other work done by the County under the direction of Commissioner Burlin of Precinct No. 4. Teme, for =100.00 cash, the two old used Kean two-way radio transmitter-receiver sets with speakers 1 and antennas, heretofore made surplus by the purchase of other equipment for the Sheriff's Department. It was found and declared by the Court that the foregoing was the highest and best bid for the surplus ' equipment and the Sheriff was authorised and directed to deliver said equipment to the purchaser upon d! the payment of the $100.00 bid therefor, and the County Treasurer was directed to credit the (100.00 G + e to the General Fund. On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to approve the filing and and prosecution of a condemnation suit against Admonia Hall for 96/1000 acres of land in the Crawford { , Burnett Survey, Abstract No. 7, required for additional right-of-way for State Fazm-to-Harket Highway E {r :dl No. 2154. t On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all bills which have .f been properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available. A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court was held in the office of the•"County Judge in the Courthouse at Bryan, Texas, beginning at 9:00 a.m, on Monday, November 21,'1955, with the following members present: A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding] { Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct Number lj Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct Number 31 and f w. ' Newton Burl.in, Commissioner of Precinct Number 4. O ~ Messrs. Fred A. Wehrman, John N. 9ramek and Frank 9ramsk appeared before the Court and an ' ~a» extended discussion was held with reference to additional right-of-wayy now being required by the State ' • of Texas for the widening of State Highway No. 21 so as to provide a four-lane highway fzom Bryan ?j Air Force Base to I-0.N. Railroad underpass.
