In accordance with public notice heretofore given, the Court went into consideration of the f
t 1955 proposed budget as submitted by the County Judge on July 29, 1955. After a discussion of the budget
E - and considering various matters and problems which will be encountered during the coming year, it was b
. voted to take the budget under,adviseau,nt and to further consider it at a subsequent meeting of the Court.
• The Court received, examined, approved, and ordered filed the bond fcr 62500.00 of E. J. McBride
as a public weigher in and for Justice Precinct No. 4 of Brazos County, Texas, dated August 24, 1955, and
executed by Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland by K. W. Fox, Attomey~in-Fact.
And whereupon the Court recessed to meet again at 8e30 a.m. an Friday, September 2, 1955•

Thereupon a motion was made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, by which the Court voted
to accept and approve the budget as now revised and amended and to certify it for official use during
the year of 1956.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to fix and levy occupation
taxes for Brazos County at one-half (1/2) of the rates levied by the State of Texas, and to fix and
levy the county poll tax at twenty-five (250) cents per eligible person for the tax year beginning
October 1, 1955, and the Court voted further to request the Tax Assessor-Collector and the Sheriff
of Brazos County to strictly enforce the collection of occupation taxes levied by the County.
Upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to fix and levy taxes
for the several ccom,on school districts of Brazos County, Texas, for the tax year beginning October 1,
1955, in the amounts and at the rates certified to the Court by County School Superintendent W. D. Bunting
according to the following schedule$
