It having been found and declared that the highest and best bid ibr the entire lot of blinds was that of $1200.00 cash submitted by John H. Astin, The Plantation Shop, Mumford, Texas, on notion duly ` seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to accept the bid and to sell the entire lot of blinds to Mr. Astin for the $1200.00 cash according to his bid . Also, came on to be considered the natter of bids for the sale of the old Brazos County jail e and the real estate on which it is situated according to public advertisement authorised by the Court at its last regular meeting held on March 14, 1955. Whereupon it was found and declared that the bid of $24,110.00 submitted by Brasov A. Varisco of Bryan, Texas, was the highest and best offer made to the County. On motion duly seconded and yn nimouely adopted, it was accepted and the sale contracted to be made to Mr. Varisco subject to delivery of property at the time the new jail is occupied by the County. It was further specified that this contract would be valid and binding on the County upon the payment by Mr. Varisco of $5,000.00 advance on the purchase price of the property. Whereupon Mr. Varisco delivered his check to the County for $5,000.00 and agreed that the balance of $19,110.00 would be paid upon deliver, to him of the property and a proper deed of conveyance. For the purpose of this conveyance by the County, the Court designated County Judge A. S. Ware to act as special Commissioner to execute the deed. T Negro County Agricultural Agent, E. 0. Pace, appeared before the Court and regneeted permission ' to be absent from official duty for the period beginning Jute 6 and ending July 150 1955, in order that ' he eight attend school and take special courses at Prairie View A. g M.
