After consideration and discussion a motion was made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted by'
which the Court accepted the ,:oregoing proposal cnd authorised the installation of the equipment unumer-
ated for the specified price of $924.56. `
The Court ratified and approved the action of the County Judge in procuring a hearing before the
State Highway Commission at Austin, Texas, on Tuesday, October 26, 1954, for the further presentation of
the request of Grimes and Brazos Counties for the construction of the ten-mile gap in FM Highway No-' i58
from Carlos in Grimes County to the Williams Ranch Headquarters in Brazos County.
After discussion and upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the Court voted to
recommend to the State Highway Commission, through District Engineer John E. Blair of Bryan, the fol-
lowing projects for State Farm-to-Market highways in Brazos County for the forthcoming years

The Cameron Ranch County Road from FM Highway No. ' in a northwesterly direction
to its intersection with the Old San Antonio Road, a distance of approximately six
and one-half miles; and

The Kurten-Long Trestle Road from State Highway No. 21 at Kurten in a southeasterly
direction to the intersection of the Bowman County Road, a distance of approximately
five and one-half miles.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the Court voted to pay all bills which have
been properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.

WHEREAS, in BRAZOS COUNTY, a study of the most needed road improve-
ments has been made and consultations have been held with the appro-
priate County officials relative to the road needs of the County;
NUd, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that a FARM-TO-MAMT ROAD be designated,
extending from'F. M. Road 974, 2 miles north of Bryan, northwest to
Old San Antonio Road, a distance of approximately 7.0 miles, subject
to the condition that Brazos County will furnish all required right-of-
way free of cost to the State.
At such time as the County shall accept the provisions of this Order
and airree to the furnishing of the required right-of-way, the State
highway Engineer is directed to proeeed.with the engineering develop-
ment and construction of the project in the most feasible and economical
manner, at an estimated cost of 00,000.00, and to assume the road for
State maintenance upon completion 'of the construction herein authorized.
In case right-of-way agreement by the County is not executed within 120
days of the date of this Order, the action herein contained shall be
automatically canceled.

On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the Court accepted the action of the Hipp way
Commission and agreed to acquire and deliver to the State the necessary right-of-way in each instrument.
The respective motions and Potions thereon were as follows: -
Notion for completion of gap on FN Highway No. 158 was made~by'Commissloner
Nolan and seconded by Commissioner Burlin and adopted by a unanimous vote
of all members of the Court.
Motion for FM Highway from FM Highway No. 974 to the Old 3an•Antonio Road
was made by Commissioner Burlin and seconded by Commissioner Conrad and adopted
by unanimous vote of all members of the Court.
On motion of Commissioner Burlin, duly seconded by Commissioner Nolan and unanimously adopted,
the Court voted that as a matter of policy hereafter Brazos County would not pay from countywide funds,
for any lands required for rights-of-way for local hirhwaye or state farm-to-market highways which may
hereafter be located in Brazos County.
Upon request of Chancellor M. T. Harrington the Court joined the A.'dd College System in asking
the State Highway Commission, through State Highway Engineer D. C. Greer, for the development of full
preliminary plane and layouts for the construction of a grade separation of Farm Highway No. 60 with
the Southern Pacific and the Missouri Pacific railroad near the northwestern dorner of the main A&K
College campus at College Stgtion; it being understood that the City of College Station is also joining
in this request. Pursuant to the foregoing action, County,Judge laid before the Court the following
communication from John E. Blair, Division Engineer, Texas Highway Department of Bryan, Teorasr

necessary negotiations with all agencies involved, furnish the local

at an estimated cost of $375,000.00.

FURTHER, it is understood that the purpose of this hinute is to provide for
