I I' On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court'voted to emplpy Mr. H. H.'Cheatham of Bryan, Texas, as the contractor for the installation of temporary partitions and other improvements = in the two Moehlmaa buildings, which will be used as temporary county offices during the period of - f1 , construction of the new courthouse-jail. Mr. Cheatham had agreed to serve as contractor for the job v on a cost-plus ten per cent basis and this was approved by the Court and ordered to be paid from the , Permanent Improvements Fund estimates from time to time as required by tps contractor. The Court received and approved as submitted the report from the Brazos County Health Unit for the month of June, 1954. , S. Mr. Wallis E. Scott of the architectural and engineering firm of Caudill, Rowlett, Scott and ' Associates of Bryan, appeared before the Court and reported that his firm was ready to submit final iplane and specifications for the new Brazos County courthouse-jail to contractors for bidding. He asked) o-} the Court to set a date for the bids to be submitted and after discussion and upon motion duly secotded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to authorize the advertisement for bids on this project to be• ` received and publicly opened at 2s00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 7, 1954. A regular meeting of the Commissioners$ Court of Brazos County was held in the office of the County Judge in Bryan, Texas, on Monday, August 9, 1954, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the following members presents A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding] Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct No. 1; Reuben F. Conrad, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2; Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct No. 3; c Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct No. 4; and A. B. Syptak, County Clerk. Chairman Clifton C. Carter of the Brazos County Democratic Executive Ccmtnittee appeared before JJJ the Court and presented the recommendation of his organization that an'additional voting precinct be established in the northwest portion of the City of Bryan with polling place to be located at the Central Fire Station situated on North Bryan Avenue and that the polling place for Voting Precinct No. 11 be now designated as Travis School building instead of the old Brazos County courthouse, which L A i b i d di s now e ng raze . fter scussion and upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to establish a new voting precinct within the corporate limits of the City of Bryan to be designated as Voting Predinct No. 19 with polling place at the new Central Fire Station on North n 3 Bryan Avenue, with the following boundaries: VOTING PRECINCT NO. 19, Polling place, Centrnl Fire Station, North Bryan Avenue, City of Bryan.
