A special meeting of the Commissions' Court of Brazos County, was held in the office of the
County Judge in the courthouse on Wednesday, June 30, 1954, at 10300 a.m., with the following ambers

Mr. Harley Carswell, representing Austin, Hart & Parvin, 1112 National Rank of Commerce Building,
: Ban Antonio, Texas, appeared before the Court and presented the following proposition, for the purchase
of $526,000.00 worth of the $800,000.00 of courthouse-3aU bonds, authorised by vote of the property tax-

Gentlemen:
For the legally 4asued Courthouse Bonds of Brazos County, Tome, 'in the par amount
of $526,000.00, dated August 1, 19540 in the denomination of $1,000.00, with principal and
' semi-annual interest payable February 1 and August 1 at the Office of the State Treasurer,
Austin, Texas, with first coupon payable February 1, 1955, and to bear interest from data of
bonds to date of maturity as follows:

acceptance only, and Is made subject to the unqualified
approval of their legality by the Attorney General of the State of Texas, and by Dumas,
Huguenin & Boothman, Attorneys, designated by you, and whose fee you will pay. You agree to,
furnish us full and complete transcript of all proceedings incident to the issuance of said
bonds.
Delivery of the bonds is to be made at the American National Bank, Austin, Texas.,
This agreement shall be binding upon us for a period of 45 days from its date, and in
the event you are unable to deliver such bonds to us within the prescribed period in conformity

hereof, but shall have an irrevocable option upon such bonds for the 30 days next succeeding
the expiration of our commitment under the same terms and conditions herein recited.
As evidence of our good faith, we enclose herewith check in the amount of $10,500.00
to be held by you uncaehed, and returned to us Then we have carried out the terms of our
agreement, or should we fail or refuse to takeup said bonds, to be forfeited by no as full
and complete liquidated damages and in full and final settlement of any and all claims against
us arising through breach of our agreement.

You will recall that you ware asked to designate a special
representative to serve on a county-vide water study group.
This group has been formally organized and is known as the
Brazos County Water Committee with Mr. S. A. Lynch serving as
Chairman of the group.
This letter is to request that your organisation furnish
fluids for operational expenses of the committee in the amount
of 625.00.
Will you please notify me if this request can be fulfilled
in the very near future. Checks should be made payable to the
Brazos, County Water Committee and forwarded to P. 0. Box 726,
Bryan, Texas.
